some girls wander by mistake part II?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hi,

my question might be a bit stupid, but...

does anybody know why there was never some kind of "some girls.." part II?
I mean, a compilation of the singles released after 84 would be perfect, there are a lot of high quality B-sides from that time. They`re not all released in a proper digital quality on CD. Are there legal issues or something?

Any ideas?

the bootleg "some boys wander by mistake" was supposed to fill this gap wasn't it?

then they released "overbombing" which was NEARLY like SGWBM part 2, minus the b sides

tis indeed a strange one. would like to hear the logic behind why overbombing wasnt released as a "SGWBM part 2" album...

I think there may-be is; remember seeing a compilation (on double CD) of erlier b-sides/singles. Came across it in Wildcat Records but it was £18 so I didn't get it (damn).

Not sure what the title was or what it had on it; sorry.

Are the songs on the "some boys..." Bootleg CD digital quality or just dodgy recordings off the original Vinyl recordings (I'm talking about the older songs, from 85...)?

As far as I know there are three different versions of SBWBM. I know that some versions are copied from the vinyl, but I'm not sure about the others, as I don't own any of them.

Blood Money is on the "Tour Thing" Promo CD.

"Some boys" is not digital quality but is okay. Except perhaps for Poison Door and On The Wire (at the end there's some little vynilic scrap sounds)

I saw there's 2 version of this boot; mine is the first with the red cover. Version 2 has the floodland b-sides (Sandstorm etc...)

Track Listing
1. Body And Soul (3:37)
2. Train (2:46)
3. Afterhours (7:46)
4. Poison Door (3:48)
5. On The Wire (5:30)
6. Blood Money (3:16)
7. Bury Me Deep (4:49)
8. Untitled (3:34)
9. Emma (6:28)
10. Long Train (7:31)
11. Lucretia My Reflection (12"version) (9:55)
12. This Corrosion (12"version) (8:28)

Too bad there's not Body Electric (84 version) on it.
Or even Temple of love 7''version.
Only got them on an old crappy tape. So... Who want to help me to get them online ? hm ?

Well according to the blurb from the time -

SGW was to allow the fans to hear the totally unlistenable early singles and to get access the independent releases without having to pay ludicrous prices.

OB was about getting out of the record deal and had limited input from the band (well as I remember it – but its in interviews from the time, will search later)

As to legal issues, well yes, my remembrance there was that hussey/marx penned songs were no go. Hence the reason they never appear live.

Hope this helps
