THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I've seen the video to Walk Away, and I know there's a No Time To Cry and Body And Soul video. I'm sure some kind person on SoulSeek will have them, but I was wondering, did any of these ever get an official release?

The Body And Soul, Walk Away, No Time To Cry and Black Planet* videos were all officially 'released' (for use on TV music programmes and channels) but never released on VHS/DVD for public sale. As far as I know.

All 4 can be found on selected VCDs/DVDs in the weeding section.

*Edit: I'm not sure about the status of the Black Planet vid - it was possibly used only in the US.

Walk away (1 edit) was official released onto "videomusic 4" video compilation
Walk away (re-edit) was official released onto "dont watch that, watch this !" video compilation

the Walk Away video is great for the chance to see Von prancing around sprinkling glitter like a glitter-fairy.

Laugh? I danced like that for years*.

*but without the glitter - that would be stupid

VH1 has been known to play the Black Planet vid, if you catch it at the right time (i.e LATE :von: ).

Never seen it there
When is the magic hour :?:
Late Friday nights they have shown - as far as I know - Lucretia ( :notworthy: ), This Corrosion and Dominion. Can't remember seeing even Temple Of Love nor Under The Gun there.

This is VH1 Classic... I'm not sure you'd be getting that in your part of the world.

And when I say "late", I mean LATE! :von:
You know what I'm like.

Oh, and I just remembered... saw TOL on Scuzz once.
I don't watch on a regular basis, peeps! Not now that Mullet Man is gone.

yes, I can see only one channel called VH1.
but - as some of us may know - I'm a man who goes to sleep at 4-5 AM (too) often... so Friday's Rock ends too early for me

For your viewing enjoyment. Bear in mind some of these files are in DivX format :

I will be posting No Time To Cry and Black Planet at some point soon, but it takes forever to upload them. I don't have a decent copy of Walk Away, only some 8mb Quicktime file.

Body And Soul - 23mb

Ah, thankies, C3, it's downloading now. I'm sure I've seen/heard one with such low-quality sound that it seems almost to be screaming at me with distortion set to "Overkill".
Shame there were no SGWBM-era videos. Wouldn't have minded seeing Ben Gunn and Herr Marx in their early days throwing glitter around á la Von in Walk Away.

Oh great, now my mind is going to be filled with ideas for videos for every single track on that bloody compilation. :P

On the windows media player I can just hear the music, but see no vid. Do I need an update? Has anyone a link? Or try another program? :notworthy:

...managed it myself in the meantime, but thanx Pearson, anyway.
Geee, it is far better than anything I saw on Shot Rev 2.0, which is IMHO a bizarre collection of the worlds worst vids. (Mostly due to the woman with the electrified poodle on the head and.... errr, did anyone ever asked for seeing Eldo dance?)

Pleeeaaase, CT post the others too. :notworthy:

Hush James, we all want to see Eldo moving backwards past the other band members, dancing in dry ice and throwing glitter everywhere.

Dark, that is Walk Away. Just watched the 4mb file I have of it. It's painful.

Anyway, here's No Time To Cry - 23mb:

Cheers C3, downloading as we speak. Yep, seen the videos, occasionally terrible. Incidentally, was there a ToL video that wasn't cobbled together by the record company out of existing videos, a la Shot?

Wooohaaaaww - those were the side-whiskers.
And not so much soaked with sweat like in Wake.
Can't wait to see Walk away. I fancy pain.
