sorry - it's my uk-centric viewpoint. unfortunately I don't seem to be able to edit the poll and add a "I'm not from around these parts" option (that's an admin/mod only privilege - so mods please feel free to amend it). you'll just have to abstain for the time being. Time-Being. geddit?
Or download it from one of the many P2P networks it's found itself on.

Really liked it, think it works on a number of levels.
Ecclestone as well as being a great actor just works, quirky, alien, hot and cold emotions... cool.
The hour long individual episodes are more accessable for the Buffy generation.
Billie Piper was actually not too bad.
The icons that needed to be there were... Tardis, theme tune, Daleks etc...
Main thing is the peeps making it are fans and care about the subject.... fellow geeks
Come on D00meh..... we are all waiting for the specialist opinion!!!
Paddy.

I thought Chris Eccleston was great.
Billy Piper didn't commit any major acting crimes, hang around with any ginger-media-type wankers, or attempt to sing.
Clive the conspiracy theorist (played by the "new-customers-only" advert guy) was amusing.
New Tardis interior was a little too giger-esque.

I thought it was fantastic. Christopher Eccleston was excellent - he certainly brought a light 'quirkiness' to the role that I wasn't expecting (I laughed out loud several times).
My only slight concern was whether the 45-minute format allows for as much depth to the storytelling as the old 4-part serials.

Bloomin' ace!
'Alien? Why do you sound like you're from the North?'
'Alien planets have a North.'
Yep, Ecclestone was very good. And Ms Piper will never be much more than eye-candy, which she did a fine job of.
Obviously it was Ethan's first taste of the good Doctor, and he loved it. He's five. And yes, he is aware that he may spend some Saturday evenings hiding behind the sofa. I don't think he'll dismiss the possible menace of the wheelie bin ever again.

And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

The first thing I did whilst watchingit? Hunted down that search-engine. Found it to have a disclaimer that basically said "This is not a real search engine, it's for TV and films that need a search engine."
Owned.

And who else heard the spooky Graham Norton and the Strictly another cheapo-made dancing programme, duriong the first 10 mins of the episode??
I KNOW I haven't made it up...the very nice and totally sane people on the Julian Cope forum said so too...

During the first few minutes? Yes, now you mention it, I heard some mysterious applause and some people talking/cheering/something. o.oDebaser wrote:And who else heard the spooky Graham Norton and the Strictly another cheapo-made dancing programme, duriong the first 10 mins of the episode??

Yes. Possibly a cunning plan to make one buy the DVD's anyway. Instead of recording itDebaser wrote:And who else heard the spooky Graham Norton and the Strictly another cheapo-made dancing programme, duriong the first 10 mins of the episode??

Perhaps some of the Autons were applauding Graham "So Bloody Annoying" Norton's show Is there a difference between an Auton and anyone from Strictly Come Dancing ?

Just caught up on BBC3 tonight -
I thought they did a great job, nice mix of humour and
scariness, considering it has to appeal to all ages...
Look forward to seeing it develop...and not a wobbly set in sight
