Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.
As much as the concept of taking on the role of the "South of Watford's Himmler", despite my obvious distaste for the actual politics, gives me a warm feeling that probably should have me in front of a psychotherapist for a few years, my complete lack of knowledge of London's pubs prevents me from putting on the uniform at this point.
However, once a consensus has started to form I'll willingly step into the breach, claim it all for my idea and cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war.
what title do I get? do people have to call me "sir"? and salute? just wondering, y'know...
OK, can someone who knows the Camden pubs produce a shortlist of 3 which:
1. Don't have a dress code
2. Won't be filled with footy fans (i.e. no TV)
3. Have enough space to accomodate up to 20 drunken idiots on a Saturday afternoon/evening without a squash
OK - I think The Purple Turtle is the Pub I am thinking of.
Otherwise It could be The Worlds End - I remember being downstairs and food was being served.
I must say I very much like the idea of the pub near the bridge - the one with the beer garden. If its the same bridge I am thinking of - a railway bridge - its very near the BIG Candem Market and is also close to the Smaller Market and also close to the "Dev" - not that I really care - I am really looking forward to meeting some of you lovely people.
I must confess that I would much rather NOT be ina pub Full Of Footy Fans. No offence meant but I and Mrs Goth are not comfortable around "hardcore" football fans. - I am sure some of you Know what I mean.
Back to The Worlds End - good name for a pub that - do they have footy fans watching the match there?
Wow - This really looks like it going to turn out to be a really great "Meet-Up" and I for one cant wait!
For those worried about football: Chelsea v Charlton is on TV from midday, it's a 12.45 kick off and will be over by 3pm.
At 5.35 we have Man Utd v West Brom, which I can't see being a crowd-puller.
Unless they've got one of those dodgy Scandinavian satellites they won't have a game on screen at 3pm.
Fans of teams in Championship are safe - all those games kick off at 1pm on Sunday. I'm sure Stoke will enjoy helping us parade the trophy around the SoL
I went to Devonshire Arms last night and:
1. they have a big screen playing videos - and they played 2 TSOM songs! (followed by the M****n )
2. I spoke to the DJ and asked him if we were to organize the HL meet-up in there would they be less strict about the dress code - he said they would.
I think they want to get some more business at the moment, so I think it would be a good place to meet up. Good music, no football... We can even get the tables reserved if we like

So what do you all think about it???
Sounds a bit better! if it does turn out to be cr@p, we could always uproot and go elsewhere.
