Iggy&The Stooges
Iggy Pop herenigd met de Asheton-broers, en voor het eerst weer in België! De enige echte voorvaders van de punk, en dus wellicht even belangrijk en invloedrijk in de muziekgeschiedenis als de Beatles, Velvet Underground en... Beach Boy Brian Wilson
The Sisters Of Mercy
Andrew Eldritch heeft Dr. Avalanche nog eens afgestoft, en is uit zijn donkerste hol gekropen. De Sisters blijven een onwaarschijnlijk populair new-wave boegbeeld. En: coverden ooit "1969" van... The Stooges!

Just read it out loud and it's enough like English that you get the general idea.
If The Sisters and The Stooges confirm then Hildesheim can kiss the fattest part of my ass

Andrew Eldritch has dusted off Dr. Avalanche once more, and has crawled from its darkest hole . The Sisters remains an improbably popular new-wave band<boegbeeld?> . And even covered "1969" by... The Stooges!
Ok, Quiff Boy, I'll give it a try :
The First Names For "Lokerse Feesten 2005"
The Lokerse feesten are for the 31° edition on their trusted
successful way : a very several offer of top quality, for a very acceptable
price.
This year also some very great names are snared.
Iggy&The Stooges
Iggy Pop reunited with Asheton-brothers, and for the first time in Belgium! The only real ancestors of punk, and therefore possibly just as important and influential in music history as the Beatles, Velvet underground and... Beach boy Brian Wilson.
The Sisters Of Mercy
Andrew Eldritch has once more dusted off Dr. Avalanche, and has crawled from its darkest cave. The Sisters remain improbably a popular new-wave stem picture. And: they covered once "1969" of... The Stooges!

Belgium? This is nearer!
Okay, If they keep this trend up of going northwest, they'll go to the Nederlands, Norfolk, then Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire.
Pack me bags, parents, I'm off to Belgium (or failing that, Rock City)

I'd say 'flagbearer' would be the term in equivalent to that (with stem picture being the direct translation).hallucienate wrote:<boegbeeld?>

I think this one might be like the "Festival" The Sisters played in Bonn a few years ago, ie, seperate gigs over a coupla weeks, which is a real pity, as The Sisters, The Stooges and Jimmy Cliff are three artists that would all make my "Dream Festival" line-up.
"...by the time I get to Arizona..."
"TSOM & IGGY AND THE STOOGES".
It's to good to be true. But once in a lifetime, dreams came true!
And this all happens in my little country!
I keep asking: "Where's my God"? But there's a "GOD"!
It's a long time ago that I've seen TSOM, so I'm exciting!
But first there's U2 in Brussels, I'm not a U2 fan, I't's a gift for my girlfriend!
This Summer will be great!

BTW, I put myself on the Lokerse Feesten mailinglist, so I can keep you all informed about it....
Oh, and from the site (translated of course)...
NEVER SOLD OUT!
The 'Lokerse Feesten' are never sold out. An evening ticket or weekend voucher don't give you the right at a reserved place at the event. Only when the top limit (of visitors) is reached, the terrain will be locked temporarily. So, come early! Evening tickets will be sold the whole evening, up until the moment the top limit is reached.
So they work with the principle of 'too many people here, lock it' instead of '50000 tickets sold, lock her up boys!' Nice one
Does that mean you can lure out visitors, knock them over the head, throw them in the bushes, go to the ticket stall and say 'I saw one leave the other minute, can I go in now?'

Unfortunately I'm sure you're right on that one. Shame, cos it's a damn site closer and probably cheaper to get to than ML. Ah well.RobF wrote:I think this one might be like the "Festival" The Sisters played in Bonn a few years ago, ie, seperate gigs over a coupla weeks, which is a real pity, as The Sisters, The Stooges and Jimmy Cliff are three artists that would all make my "Dream Festival" line-up.

I think Loki and I (with boudicca coming in late, again!) are in total agreement about these outdoor affairs - SMELLY, UNCOMFORTABLE, MILES AWAY FROM THE STAGE, BURGER BAR, INSANITARY, NO FUN and nae telly or Pakora Shop!

Miles away from the stage - not if you're in front of it.
No fun - unless you're having fun.
No telly - thank f**k.
Fair enough with the rest, all true, more or less (you'd be amazed at the variety of food at Glastonbury), but all a very small price to pay for a couple of days of the kind of behaviour you just can't usually get away with in normal waking life.

I heard the food stalls at Glastonbury had got very expensive - captive audience and all that

Yeah I'm sure they have, but the diversity...from well wierd hippy crap from you can't pronounce or spell...to a million different curries...to the Yorkshire Pie n' Pea Stall, and most stops in between.
@ Eva - don't think I'm cheeky enough to blag more than one euro away-trip from the fine peeps on here. Not to mention the missus.
