Christ opened the doors to the Pope

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Not sure about the reliability of the source of course, but maybe there's hope yet :) Keep him in your prayers for a little while longer.

The word on the street is that they wouldn't let him go before the Easter festivities.

One of my favourites.

Be a blessing when he passes because he's been not in the best of health for a long time now.

A good soul who will be going to heaven.

yes, I have seen him a few years ago in Poland and was very surprised how frail he looked then. Apparently he realises he is dying, and in my opinion he knows that he's fulfilled his m*****n. I'm not religious but I have a big respect for that man...

The title of this thread reminded me of a Blackadder Sketch:
The writers of Blackadder wrote: <A tremendous noise of wood being bent and broken fills the room. Baldrick enters, carrying a door.>

Edmund: <looks at what Baldrick is carrying; is not surprised; speaks calmly> Baldrick, I would advise you to make the explanation you are about to give, phenomenally good.

Baldrick: You said, "Get the door."

Edmund: Not good enough -- you're fired.

Baldrick: But, My Lord, I've been in your family since 1532!

Edmund: So has syphilis; now get out.

Baldrick: My Lord. <starts to leave but returns> Oh, by the way: there was a messenger outside when I got the door. He says the Queen wants to see you -- Lord Melchett is very sick.

Edmund: <stands up excitedly> Really...!?

Baldrick: Yeah -- he's at Death's door.

Edmund: Well, my faithful old reinstated family retainer, let's go and open it for him, then!
Probably in poor taste, but I have no alliegance to the Pope, and we all need a little humour now and again.

I try hard to respect the deeply held beliefs of others, really, I do.
But a certain well known phrase concerning the Pope springs to mind.
And before anyone suggests it, it's not sectarianism, or any other kind of ism. I've little time for religion, it's an evil thing IMHO.
As Von once astutely observed - it's time we stopped teaching our children religion and started teaching about religion.
It'll be a far nicer world once we stop forcing our creeds, beliefs and bigotry on our descendants.

To steal some more lines -

What are they gonna say?
That he was a kind man?
That he was a wise man?
Bullshit man!

Millions, no doubt are praying for him, and I guess I'm fine with that.
It's their choice.
But given his Holiness's opinions on abortion, birth control, homosexuality and women clergy - I wouldn't give the man the steam off my shit!
Sorry, but it's just the way I feel.
Besides which, he's had a good innings, whatever your opinion of him. Everything has its season.

Finally, Bill Hicks once remakred something along the following lines.

Three centimetres of armoured glass?
That's faith for you!
You are what you drink - I'm a bitter man!

I'm with Erudite on this one I'm afraid.

And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
