Gig 3 - Do I see a tour emerging? ;-)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I listend scorpions today and I think that it's good idea for von to make "rock you like a hurricane" as a new sister-cover. quite close his mood. Here's the lyrics but music is alsow great for this band:

It's early morning The sun comes out
Last night was shaking And pretty loud
My cat is purring And scratches my skin
So what is wrong With another sin
The bitch is hungry She needs to tell
So give her inches And feed her well
More days to come New places to go
I've got to leave It's time for a show

Here I am, rock you like a hurricane
Here I am, rock you like a hurricane

My body is burning It starts to shout
Desire is coming It breaks out loud
Lust is in cages Till storm breaks loose
Just have to make it With someone I choose
The night is calling I have to go
The wolf is hungry He runs the show
He's licking his lips He's ready to win
On the hunt tonight For love at first sting

Here I am, rock you like a hurricane
Here I am, rock you like a hurricane
Here I am, rock you like a hurricane
Here I am, rock you like a hurricane
long live rock'n'roll

Alas, Von has said himself that he only covers songs that he finds ridiculous. Then again, he does find other people getting too close to his style quite ridiculous...of course he's never covered Near Meth Experience, so maybe not ;)

I think it depends on how you've spent your day in the Dam. :D And thus how 'comfy' you are when you should really be heading for Centraal Station. :innocent: I just know it wouldn't happen.

It's an occupational hazard, like homework.

The band cancelled this gig after it turned out that the festival is being promoted as goth event - or so the organizers claimed in reply to an e-mail enquiry.

Information about the date was announced in late February atfestival promoter's site; Sisters were billed together with several goth no-names. Few days later all information about the festival was removed; the image you see was saved before being taken down.

But surely there will be places where one can "indulge" within staggering distance of the venue (?) I'm sure there's more to The Netherlands than the delights of The Dam. :?:

I'm sure there are Si, I'm just making excuses, good one though it is. I can only afford (and barely that) the one gig, and VNV at ML swing it. Not to mention seeing the girls headline on a big stage, monstrous lighting rig and all.

A question for the Dutch:

Is this a festival with a camping site or rather not?

Cheers, Eva.
