As a lapsed Sisters fan who has recently got back to it I'm out of touch with the habits of the man. As are we all to an extent.
Anyway experts, what do you reckon the chances are of any UK dates in the summer? Preferably inside, none of this festival stuff. (And preferably near my house of course...)
UK dates? (calm down, it's a question not an announcement)

Educated guess: No UK dates this summer, but a mini-tour (or at least a one-off in Leeds or York) in February next year.
NB This is a guess not an announcement

What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison?
I'll go with MarkFiend's 25th anniversary next year. Hopefully everyone will have forgotten about him by then as the thought of having to queue in the cold and snow to see one man, a tape-recorder, a drum machine and a pair of overweight dancing cats might deter me ...
'Someone' maybe, hypothethically, may have said something about UK August dates after the festivals but it wasn't me. I know nothing.

It's almost a tradition to do a Leeds gig, isn't it? Isn't it? ISN'T IT?!

gotta be a good chance of a Leeds or York date around early next year...Loki wrote:I'll go with MarkFiend's 25th anniversary next year. it would be unusual for Herr to miss out on that...i can't see a UK tour in August 2005 however...maybe a tour in Jan/Feb to coincide with the anniversary...two birds one stone sorta thing?...

I'm plumping fer dates starting on the 6th Aug until the 21st Aug
I'll be out of the country then, so seems the most logical time they would play.

Five cups of coffee just to be myself...when I'd rather be somebody else
Not quite sure about the start date. Love the end date though.Debaser wrote:I'm plumping fer dates starting on the 6th Aug until the 21st Aug

I'm just praying that the dates (should there be any) don't coincide with my sister's wedding at and of July. If I have to make such a choice, my family may never speak to me again...Loki wrote:Not quite sure about the start date. He really hates french, not good at all Mr Eldritch !!!doctoravalanche wrote:When Andrew will play in France ? He never did ... Some say he hates why ... but he speaks french very well.
"If reincarnation exists, Eldritch would like to come back as a cat. His worst fear is returning as a Frenchman."
"I think I might have to reinvent America and put a big lake where Los Angeles stands. I was going to put a map on the back of the album, and redraw the world according to the Sisters Of Mercy. Norway? Ocean. France? Ocean. There'd be nothing but water between Calais and Iberia. France and L.A. would be drowned for the common good of mankind. Perhaps I should get rid of the French bits of Canada in the first phase as well."
The expanse of water on the cover next to Trevor Howard is the Mersey - another town [?] Eldritch would personally like to see under salt water. Slough and the London borough of Hillingdon are next on the list, closely followed by the rest of the world. France, however, is The Sisters' main target for destruction.
"Europe looks brilliant without France on it. It really enforces the identity of Britain as an island. In fact, instead of the promotional ads for the album on telly, I should put Euro-tunnel-type ads on. People could buy shares in the Flood France Conglomerate. I had thought of putting the women somewhere safe first, and then moving in. I don't mind French women. Perhaps a chemical attack on the male chromosomes. It would have to be pretty strong stuff because you know what those French chromosomes are like.
"I refuse point-blank to do business with anyone in France, ever. The band has never played there. The band will never play there. I have never exported a single record or done one interview for the French. I believe 'This Corrosion' has made some money over there and I fully intend to send the royalties back. I think it's the sort of gesture we all ought to make. They're a miserable consumptive race that revels in despair. Even their language is really great at expressing that pathetic shrug of the shoulders that English has no use for. Maybe I'll buy Morrissey a ticket there just before we go for the big one. The climate would suit him."
