I think the mystery is in the heads of the people who like there to be mystery.
I've personally always found him very approachable so lomg as you don't just burst in on a conversation and ask inane questions, eg FAQ of the stupider kind and then demand an autograph.
He's more serious than mysterious.
If you get into a conversation with him he's more than likely to test your intellect by asking your opinion about the state of the world. Often the case with serious people that they're inquisitive - more interested than interesting.
That said, he has a very dry wit that you can actually miss if you're not paying attention (thinks: was that sarcasm, irony, a compliment, an insult or a combination thereof....) and to collapse the myth a little further has a thin little laugh and a tendency to giggling and sniggering which is amusing in itself. And he laughs at fart jokes.

Something pithy.

I've gotta know: does Andrew visit this forum? If so, I don't think he'd come here too often.

We...don't know. Maybe. I'm sure he has Baxcorp watching us, but please let's not resurrect the Chairman Chronicles, eh?

Hopefully not! I would have to bridle my malicious tongue. (So far, I felt quite safe here. )Black Biscuit wrote:I've gotta know: does Andrew visit this forum? If so, I don't think he'd come here too often.

It's all very simple.
f**ked-up (sounding) background, so he went and became a git.
But no-on cares, 'cos he's sexy. Hooray!
Is that mysterious enough for you?

I do want to emulate him as much as possible, though...

Realistic. His own word. I suspect he's taken Eldritch as a send-up to his contemporaries - Bauhuas, anyone? Regard his opinion on that hoary old corpse of a horse, the band name...Melody Maker, March 1985 wrote:

AE - Doomy* is a housewives' word for realistic. It's a dangerous world.
I'll take his word for it. He's realistic. He approaches the world at a different angle - obtusely, if you will, but mysterious? No, he's actually pretty open. The thing is, underneath there is an educated English gentleman, not some bat-eating drug-addled American rockstar. Therein lies the so-called 'mystery' of rock idols. Their bizarre private lives. Andrew's private life is - I assume - simply not that peculiar.Meloday Maker, January 1983 wrote:

Again, all of this is nothing more than an opinion...

Because I trust you Si, and because the Heartlanders have been such good sports, have a look at this picture and see if you can't identify the chap at the back. I have a better picture, in the possession of a mate, which I may post later.big si wrote:He's got the hair, all he needs now is the beard and a white suit!

I'm not officially wussed-out yet...but I can't see me making it.
