Anyone else notice at the start of the movie showgirls their playing vision thing on the radio in the car?
Did Andrew Eldritch know they were going to use his song in the movie?

If you want to use a song in a movie, you need to buy the rights to do so, first. Either they 've asked the publisher or, if the song is under "copyright control" directly the songwriter/lyricist.
One way or the other, he is aware of it and got quite a sum for it, as it is very expensive, espc. for a world-wide distribution.

I read on the official site that Andrew doesn't think any of the sisters songs have been used in a movie.
show girls is possibly the worst movie ever made.

A negligible white lie to not be held responsible for appearing in movies such as the above mentioned.nick the stripper wrote:I read on the official site that Andrew doesn't think any of the sisters songs have been used in a movie.

When was showgirls made? It could have been since the last update
Anyway the FAQ doesn't actually say their music has never been used in a film...

The Sisters have never written music specifically for any film which didn't feature Dennis Hopper. That was only once, and as it turned out, the music has been used elsewhere ( - not on film).
The Sisters have tried a couple of times to get pre-existing songs onto the soundtrack of a film, and were afterwards glad that they didn't achieve it, as the films were not as good as hoped: 'Things To In Denver When You're Dead' (great script, great cast, but unfortunately lacklustre direction) and 'Judge Dredd' (great comic, Joan Chen, but unfortunately an all-round bad film).
The Sisters have often spent time getting their music taken off the soundtrack to dodgy B-movies (like 'Wayne's World'). They're certainly not interested in dodgy-darkling films.
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

I hate to open a can of worms, but I've always really liked 'Showgirls' (and no, before you say it, not for THAT reason!)nick the stripper wrote: show girls is possibly the worst movie ever made.
I subscribe to the school of thought that it's the most underrated film ever made, the ultimate sleazy, trashy masterpiece from one of the world's greatest recent directors.
So there!

The half-naked boys... it really depends...I like a man with class, you see.
Chippendales and male strippers (sorry Nick!) can go f**k themselves. Which they probably do.
If they do that thing where they make the muscles on their chest go up and down in time to the music, chances are I will run screaming from the building...

I agree. We were given some free tickets by a client for a male show a while ago - and were told we could also pay for extra private dances. Revolting - nearly lost my lunch at the thought.
No, I didn't use the tickets

I never talk during music, at least during good music. If one hears bad music, it is one's duty to drown it in conversation.
