What's your best night..

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I got to thinking tonight about the best relaxing and meaningful nights...
Mine is a good night, friends around [not compulsory] and a good glass [bottle] of wine, something live on tv [tonight joolz holland, foofighters].
It's good to watch/listen to stuff on cd/video, but nothing better than being 'connected' by watching/listening live.
Anyone else feel like this, and if so, what? :?:

tell me your ideal chill out/most 'connected' comfortable night...
...mmmmmmmmmMMMMMM!....

Blimey culprit, now yer askin'
I have had so many 'big nights' I really don't know where to start...

#1- Robert Plant, Glasgow Barrowland, Now And Zen Tour.
A hot, summery Saturday night in Glasgow, right after me and Wee Anni went shopping for my second bass gee-tar, wonderful :D

there will be more

1. Turbonegro gig, 23.04, then first aftershow party, second secret aftershow party and third even more secret aftershow party... Astra bier, Fred Schlemmacks bar, Reeperbahn in Hamburg, everybody dancing, singing, drinking, lots of love and denim everywhere! PERFECT!!!
2. New Years Eve 1999/2000 - sitting in the mountains with my Vampire friend from Czech Republic, lots of snow everywhere, -20C and we were both tripping... :innocent:
3. and - above all - last Saturday night... :innocent:  8)

Sitting in her bedroom listening to Billy Joel's The Stranger.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

Vodka, loud music (any of several strains), latest purchase from above the chemist, preferably a field / campsite, and a phalanx of foxy people.

There's always one of the above missing though. Can't think why. ;D

Last NYE takes some beating... Finding salt in my hair on the tram, the A-Z worm, wondering what was in those drinks as the a rather odd version of "smells like teen spirit" played, watching a goth in a shed get set on fire, walking through some rather unsavory backstreets, watching weird japanese cartoons, dozing off and finally waking up to a woman with a hamster looking at me and saying "Andy... why is this lady lying on the floor?"
I guess you had to be there...

Having two gigs in one night deserves a mention too. Especially HMHB at the boardwalk in sheff, followed by a breif jog up to the casbah for Ghost of Lemora and Gloominati. oddly enough, some lads from HMHB were evesdropping on my convo with a guy handing out flyers outside and gathered I was off to a club. I saw them looking scared and confused as several paticularly terrifying goths danced around them

A good night would be to f*ck each others brains out and in between, heated debates about important issues of whatever kind.

Hello.

I can relate to that. I always enjoy a good heated debate.

My wedding night - noooooo not that - we had a party at our house straight after the wedding (which was at 9.15 on a Saturday morning :urff: ) and it continued until late on Sunday morning. We had plenty of drink and substances, dry ice throughout the whole house (you could see f**k all after about 30 minutes) and a lighting rig - together with lots of music (especially the sisters).

Now - any night which includes good friends, good drink (food optional) and, if I'm feeling particularly up for it, those substances again!
I never talk during music, at least during good music. If one hears bad music, it is one's duty to drown it in conversation.

Discovering new bars can be good. Friends always want to go over the same old territory - even if it's a venue they love to hate. I'm taking them to a posh cocktail bar on the 34th floor of a skyscraper hotel soon, just so they can shake things up a bit and see something a little different/new.
.... there is no semblance of rock 'n roll around here!

My idea of a perfect night is everything but relaxing. Doesn't have to be meaningful either. This girl just wants to have fun.

Very much the same for me... I can have fun everywhere I go, as long as the people that are with me are enjoyable... I try even not to care about the music when going out, because ninety nine percent of the time, the places where my friends want to go have pretty crappy music anyway

So, it's the company that counts...

You, Darling are coming to the next WJT! You will never forget it, I promise! I just remembered Hamburg Fischmark at 7 am on Sunday, everybody singing Karaoke... Everybody still half-drunk, half-hangover... The best party ever! I really miss them people, I am in "nobody loves me" mood today and would give up everything to be there now... :)
