Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I had the (mis)fortune to catch a piece on Radio 4 earlier about metal detecting. And you'll never guess who's a dab hand at it. Bill Wyman apparently. Hell, if even he's lost interest in chasing women, what hope is there for the rest of us. And I thought alzheimer's was the worst I could expect.

I always wanted to go out and detect metal in far away fields.

There's a bit of a love-hate relationship between metal detectorists and real archaeologists. Apparently the detectorists tend to f*ck up the stratigraphy when the dig up their finds, but then again, the archaeologists wouldn't necessarily find the stuff the detectorists do.
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

There's got to be a joke about Ben Gunn in there somewhere, but I'm buggered if I can find it.

well i suppose Bills gotta do something with his spare time....seeing as the other guys he used to hang out with have gone off around the world...again!
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.
