Obviousman's night off/New Top Gear series/Fave Driving Song

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Spent my night off (well, everyone has got to have one every once and a while) watching the brand new series of Top Gear...
Does anyone else love this show as much as I do here :D ?

Now they come with the obligatory green car:

Image

 :innocent: (really!)

Playing football with cars (Toyota Aygos if anyone cares)...

And some nice quotes of course, courtesy of mr. Clarkson: 'This car (Merc CLS 55 AMG) sounds like Barry white eating wasps' :notworthy:

Still I don't like mr. Clarkson as much as the bloke who presented it before, what's his name, Tiff Needell, I just loved to see him go through corners ;D

Oh, and they're looking for people's favorite driving songs, we've got to bring some good influence in, don't we :P (clicky)

Meanwhile all has gone well, allthough I did not quite keep up with my scheme today, thanks to some stupid paper we have to make
But I'm sure I'll catch up with that next week!

Greetings!

Hi Obviousman nice to hear from you and I hope that all goes well this week.

I love Top Gear although I have no interest in cars per se (mine's just a mobile handbag :D ).

I enjoy Mr C's outdated and outmoded stlye (and I know its an act) and I also like the little one (can't think what his name is!).
I never talk during music, at least during good music. If one hears bad music, it is one's duty to drown it in conversation.

Glad to hear someone likes Top Gear too, and not just a carfreak-someone

And what car you have doesn't really matter, mine is non-existent (well, it is not anymore since a car crash, anyways), but that does not take my love for the automobile down, far from it 8)

Merc's aren't my cup of tea exactly, but,I just love the sound of Barry White eating wasps ;D (and it's the A-class you mean, most probably )

Now that is what I call a car... But err... What is it?
You make me feel down as normally I am able to recognize every single car I see passing by
My has been car was slightly less exotic, it was a fabulously underpowered Audi 80 1600D  If I went up a slope at 50 KMH and floored it, I ended up at 30 when being at the top

@Mr. Blast: The title says night, meaning I will go to bed in a jiffy anyway and it don't make no difference if I do nothing here or elsewhere 8) but thanks for keeping me outta here

I went on the clicky and voted for Heartland. It is after all "a song about speed, cars, speed and more speed" ;)

both sadly long dead now
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Merde! Talking about a money-eating nightmare-wreck would be more appropriate.

Top Gear Greatest Driving Song Vote wrote:This series, Top Gear wants your nominations for your all time favourite driving song. So, what tune is it that makes your forget you are stuck in a traffic jam? What song makes you feel like your 84 Ford Escort is really a 65 Mustang? Let us know, the most popular suggestions will be put to the public vote in a few weeks time.
Based on the criteria above I voted for "Jesus Built My Hotrod" by Ministry

I once 'came round' when the song finished to realise that I was doing 110 on the M4 with what my passenger described as a "deranged expression" on my face :innocent:

Gotta be played "loud enough to knock you down" :notworthy:
Something pithy.

Guys, seriously, this isn't the contest for 'Song That Nearly Led To A Pile-Up'...
