Sisters mentioned in the Independent, in Cure article

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

From today's Independent in an article about The Cure Album Pornography -

"...A hugely influential record, its slow, mechanised drums, heavily treated guitars and sombre synths anticipated The Sisters' Reptile House EP..."

Anticipated? What does that mean then?

Pornography is by far the finest moment in Fat Bobs career. A classic album. 8)

No contest.

There you go, the missing link between all good bands. Even if some people got it wrong.

Rubbish. Disintegration is the best.

You are however, entitled to your wrong opinion.

Hmmm, I'll definitely vote for Pornography. Disintegration was the only real highlight in the inexorable slide from there on in. It's good, but it contains a lot of mediocre filler. Pornography has no filler, and is a classic from beginning to end.

The Top is ace.

They've not done anything good since the Wish album.

Except for Burn which was on the Crow soundtrack.

Fat Bob was best when he shut up his whining and played on the Banshees "Hyaena".

I wonder what he'll do at Live Aid 2? He couldn't very well sing 'feed the world', with all those pies inside him...

Stop discussing?

Bob influenced AE...any truth to this? Can't see it myself, not on RH...atypical Sisters sound of the period IMO.
