Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

hahahah, yes its more "black wire" gubbins

this time its album reviews.

for the hard of thinking, i've highlighted the bits you find interesting... ;D
NormanRecords.com wrote:Now talking of Black Wire, a scrawny, scruffy bunch of lads with bad spiky hair & drainpipes, they have an album out on Leeds imprint 48 Crash. Having being courted relentlessly by the majors (kudos to you for staying with a little Leeds label lads) & laughed at by me on many occasion I find myself warming to their brand of catchy sleaze, junior rockabilly, electro rock, dinky new wave guitars, pogo-pop & irresistible party goth. They sound like they've been listening to everything from Suicide to early B-52s, 80's Matchbox to The Stray Cats & Birthday Party to The Specials!!!! This results in a tight, varied & quality album, chock full of great fun songs with a loving, airy production from the guy who makes Hood sound so special.

A Review that someone found wrote:This was more like it! A black suited cataclysm of synth punk and a sharp look through the dark ages that brought us The Sisters of Mercy! Pulsating bass perforated with hard core drum loops made for a crowd full of jittering zombies, just like them really! These guys were rock'n'roll! The guitarist with his Johnny Cash quiff and treble overload thrashing away like The Sonics or something! Bringing us a less self-conscious and much more raw performance! The guitar was jagged, the bass was growling. The two were perfectly placed and matched the cold drum monotony with an opposite attraction!

Black Wire have just finished their self titled album and were celebrating its release with a tour, Tonight included! The energy flowed out of them. Smashing through thier NME voted single of the week back in 2003, 'ATTACK! ATTACK!ATTACK!', with a lot of screaming, was welcome... Black Wire are genius, they are riotous, fast, unpredictable, dangerous, hilarious, everything you want from live music!

Yeah, all the blatant plugging for techno-industrial bands, and those bloody heretics, I mean, what are these people doing? ;)

Dunno who's bands those are. Apparently the techno-industrial ones are quite good though ;)

Moving back on topic, I saw a small piece about Black Wire's album in this month's Q - I'll dig it out if no-one else can be bothered to first. The review was quite good (3 stars) and almost made me want to reach into my wallet...then I realised I was skint. Shame :P

That's a point. When we're famous, will you discuss reviews about Tierkreis or Ratzinger with such pride, Quiffy?

Oh... I'll not say they name aloud again in here, because if I did I would definitely get banned! But, let me just say that I am seriously considering getting some denim in the near future 8) ;D

From Goth to Hippy B@stard Scum in one easy purchase. Frightening how easy it is to have a make-over. :innocent:

When dealing with that denim stuff, the question of black denim seems to rise every time :D
As for my bands obsessions... Well, it depends on the week I'm in  Still, I can agree Delilah's choice is absolutely fabulous :P

Hey, black (or rather grey) denim are the only trousers I seem to wear.

They go well with the Bauhaus t-shirt.
