Ultimate Sisters Art

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

B&W version can be seen on the right hand page to the lyrics for "Afterhours" in the hardback version of "Postcards From Above The Chemist."

Is that Andrea White in the picture, or are you Andrea White?

I'm not Andrea White and the person on the picture is also not Andrea White, and unfortunately the art is not mine.

It's from one of my friends, and yes, for something like that there's always a place in my house.

talking of which,if any HLers know where a copy of "..........Chemist" can be obtained, please PM me.
(yes,i know none of you want to get rid of yours...but if you've got a spare copy....well,it might happen  )

the chances of it being reprinted this side of the new album (sorry but i have to stop and laugh/cry whenever the new album is mentioned) are slimmer than a slim thing ( :von: ?)

Does "made out of transparent plexiglass" mean you can put some light behind it? 8)

Looks like it doesn't it? Now I bet that would look cool.

Curious to know what/why it was made.

If it was just to have it then cool.

If it was as part of a project in working with plexiglass then also cool.

If, however, it was part of an art class - and the 'gallery' setting kind of suggests this - then not so cool. Very well executed but not an original piece of work.

I'm having one of those days already....
Something pithy.

I assumed it was the original from which the drawings/prints in "Postcards..." were made

I am new here so hello to you all!!
I can provide you with some answers about the artwork.. simple because it's mine. :D

The original artwork is of course from "Postcards From Above The Chemist."
We have just scanned it and rebuild the drawing in Illustrator.
After that we gave it some colours we liked (we had a black/white & and blue house)
We have delivered the artwork to a company which makes billboards
( Sorry.. I am not familier with the English word for that)
It took them about three days to make it.

It hang originally on a 3,5 meters square wall ... before we moved (thats the reason why it's now on a piece of wood).

Why it's made?? pure fun ... we like it big... it's just a nice thing to have staring at you... something like that.
Better than a landscape painting isn't it?

We have tried to put some lights behind it..but unfortunatly that looks a bit "cheapy".. as the only way to put light behind it, is with a lightrope.
It looks nicer with a big spot before it!!
(eeehhhm very BIG!!!!) :D

After our momentary lapse of reason earlier this year, I hope you'll agree that we're heading back on track with this one. I would like to thank all those who have helped to create this edition, most notably the writers of Godhaven, from whose magazine we borrowed material we thought might be of interest to our readers, and Andrea White for her willingness to help after she's done her day job (Godhaven, handbook of the frighteningly benevolent, can be contacted at godhaven ink, po box hp94, ls6 1yj).
