music drought

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Does anyone here ever reach that stage when you get totally bored of all your cd's/records/whatever and you just think "I must have more music - NOW!", then discover loads of bands you hadn't really given that much time to previously and kick yourself for not giving them a chance before, then go on a large-as money-will-allow cd buying spree in record shops you never knew existed because of your lack of recent music purchasing?

It happened to me recently and I'm glad I feel excited about music again 8)

Thanks to Soulseek, I have thousands of tracks that's new for me. When I'm bored of my own CD collection, I have lots of new stuff to chose from.

Indeed I do.

Oh, there's nothing worse than that feeling, rummaging around on the floor of my room (which is where I "store" several hundred CDs, not in their cases of course), and you don't really want to listen to any of them.

Other times I find myself digging out any old crap and enjoying it. :urff:

At the moment though, there are a lot of bands that I've got into but still have half their stuff to buy.... that's always good. :D

Search eBay, using obviously sillykeywords, and see what comes back.

Bizarre Troll Technology is the latest dubious addition to my collection. It's crap, but it made me laugh.

Actually got the Three Imaginary Boys Cure remaster. It surprised me. The production is done by a guy who did The Jam and it is really neat. The additional disc with demo material sheds and interesting light on the early songwriting of Fat Bob while the liner notes are hilarious. HMV has it on sale at the moment I think.

It used to happen to me, but all the music I bought seemed entertaining for a week or two, well some bands for a month maybe, and I always ended up with the unpleasant feeling that I could have spent the money on something more useful and more durable, like some jewellery or some new clothes. So these days I just download them or borrow from younger acquaintances, for a week or two. Sad but true.

I fancy I'll open a stationers.
Stock quaint notepads, for weekend pagans.
While you were out at the Rollright Stones,
I came and set fire to your shed.

Cos you probably work at an all night garage :innocent:

First time I heard that was not pleasant. I had a stomach ache and ended up in a fit of laughter which did not help matters :|

Bloody great song though

I never got into them. Maybe that's because I watched some god-awful live video of theirs before listening to any of their albums.
