A Slight Case Of Overbombing

Got any interesting thoughts on a set of lyrics? Any that don't involve the word "indeed"? Find yourself struggling to decipher all those obtuse references Von makes? Read "1959 And All That" and still no clearer? Nope, us neither. Postcards found lying in a skip around the back of the Chemists can be found here... Don't say you weren't warned.

Its another speed referance, isn't it?
Some site about amphetamines wrote: Amphetamine is a synthetic stimulant drug. The illicitly produced powder is usually taken by wrapping it up in a cigarette paper and swallowing it (known as ‘bombing’ or ‘dropping it’).

As well as its more obvious meaning, the title "A Slight Case Of Overbombing" also means overdoing yourself on speed, am I right?

Could it have been a political statement with regards to the air strikes in Iraq earlier in the same year? It would fit with the sentiments of Vision Thing.

But knowing Von it's probably both, with several more besides ;)

i seem to recall an interview with some swedish tv guy from around the time of its release where he hinted at both the above suggestions... drugs and air strikes.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
