Bummer, ems, I know how you feel, I applied for three jobs about two months ago
PS. I didn't even get as far as an interview
- 1. Designer - golfing knitwear firm in Lanark, wasn't really interested, but it looked like an escape from my current hell
2. Designer - Caledonia Macbrayne Ferrys, looked promising
3. Designer - Glasgow City Museums, a dream of a job and a return to a former life
- 1. 'we have found some one more suitable'
2. 'we do not think you match our criteria'
3. no reply
PS. I didn't even get as far as an interview

James - how about trying to sort out some freelance design work? Is that possible or is it more stress than it's worth?

Don't get disheartened James. You know you're good enough. Go for the smaller, upcoming firms. They're more likely to be meritocracies than bureaucracies.James Blast wrote:I didn't even get as far as an interview
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

@Emily: Can't you get on the relief teacing list of your LEA? Or take and SNA job just to get your foot in the door?
@James: Does your CV contain a URL pointing to a website showcasing your best work?

Good idea. Come to think of it mrs fiend got her first teaching job by going on supply, then one of the schools she went into took her on full time.Francis wrote:@Emily: Can't you get on the relief teacing list of your LEA? Or take and SNA job just to get your foot in the door?

You'll have a job soon enough - they're crying out for teachers. Go on supply - it pays well and you don't have to plan
Seriously - there are plenty of jobs (even for principled people) - enjoy your free time
