claims to fame

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Has anyone got any claims to fame? Are you related to someone who played in the Sisters ( )? Let us know! 8)

my 'rock family tree' (linked by people who I've played in bands with) connects me to:

Alan Vega (2 jumps)
Lydia Lunch (2 jumps)
Fun>Da>Mental (3 jumps) (and so Southern Death Cult in 4 jumps)

I could do more jumps to connect it to the Sisters, but the above is tenuous enough as it is (and so could anyone who's picked up a guitar!).

Nope Libby. But I have had a drink with David Bowie, swapped tops with Kurt Cobain, slept on Ian Dury's hotel floor and gone on tour with the Cure as a 'little helper'. :D

So, as I said, no. :|

Nothing very rock'n'roll.

But my mum's cousin's daughter used to be married to Luke Perry.

(Honestly.)

Judging by your avatar, he most likely thought he's back in.

a matter of pride for my parents/grandparents;a matter of standing outside in shorts at -3c for four hours for me.

....however i am quite proud of gobbing an enormous lung-chunk onto the top of Fergies head.(thats sarah, not alex)
Well I was handsome and I was strong

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

My mum used to go out with Errol Brown
My great-great grandfather was the last Tsar of Russia's tailor
My dad shook hands with, and briefly spoke to, Princess Diana
I shook hands with Acey Slade and all of his band, Trash Light Vision, and was given a well-smashed stick by their drummer at the end of the gig.

My brother was in the same infant-school class as the daughter of Englebert Humperdinck's guitarist.

I used to know (Pink Floyd keyboardist) Rick Wright's daughter Gala. (Full name Gala Starshine Wright )

One of my mates at school lived next-door to one of the Inspiral Carpets.

In a past life, I once sucked Jimmy Saville's blood out of his body.

Unfortunately professionalism made me pump it back in.

Nope. Nothing. Not a sausage. No relationship whatsoever to anyone of any fame.

Guess that makes me special in an age of instant celebrity!

My wife's sister went to school with Rosamund Pike, bond girl. I think I met her briefly, but she didn't stick in my mind.
I've met a number of authors - William Gibson, Iain Banks, Terry Pratchett, Fay Weldon etc etc - but only for a couple of minutes each.
My father in law is apparently a K.B.E., although I can't verify that.
I've been on t.v. five times, not counting adverts, and I DO have a website with my picture on it (for work). But no, all of these are very slim claims to fame. As far as international celebrity goes, I'm still working on it.

My brother used to play for the same Sunday League team as the offspring of Paul Ince and Karlheinz Riedle (sp?). And I once scored a goal against the team Ian Rush's son was playing for. And I've talked to Gary Christian and Henry Priestman (of The Christians) and shaken Eric Bibb's hand. That's about it.

I met a few TV famous people when I did a stint of work experience at a recording studio in London (Advert work and film overdubs).

Claude from 12 Rounds sent me a letter and a load of promo stuff before she left England when they were signed to Nothing Records.

My mate played a gig a couple of weeks back with Wendy James (from Transvision Vamp). His comments were "still gorgeous after all these years" followed by "ow" when his girlfriend hit him.

At some point in the future I will take over the world. If the cats don't beat me to it.

I have recently discovered that my Mum taught Will Young when he was in primary school.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.
