most popular mac mp3 player software?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

whats the most common mac mp3 player software? iTunes?

a website i'm doing has MOV and MP3 files for download and i'm wanting to add "download now" type button thingumys and links to the appropriate software for both pc and mac

i know quicktime is the most popular player for MOV files and is widely used on both for pc and for macs so that one is covered, and for PC MP3s i've got a button graphic and link for winamp, but i'm at a bit of a loss as to what to advise mac users to download or use...

if it is iTunes, is it even worth adding a link to it or will most mac os users already have it?

any suggestions from the mac fraternity out there would be mucho appreciado. :notworthy:

well I use iTunes for what thats worth Boss, but I'm not really a big fan, back in OS 9 days I used MusicMatch JukeBox, it was far easier to use and a lot less cranky than iTunes, still its free and the graphic equaliser is nice

Media Player Classic, if I don't want said mp3 to automatically go into my Library (eg, any demos I'm working on) or if I just plain don't want to have to let it load its visualisations and other crap.
Works great for videos too.

Oh, sorry. I thought it would work on a Mac. Mind, not being foolish enough to use one, I wouldn't know. *runs for the hill*

Could one use an emulator?

Quiff Boy,
for .mov files you can use also MPlayer, wich i think is the best free media player for MacOS X. take a closer look here, and yes iTunes stays the most pop audio
