yep. i wondered about that myself, but i would class it as a promo for the near-mythical "forthcoming live DVD" rather than as a promo vid...

i'ld have to agree with Quiffy.promo videos are available to television etc.,in conjunction with an official release;be it a single or album track.Quiff Boy wrote:yep. i wondered about that myself, but i would class it as a promo for the near-mythical "forthcoming live DVD" rather than as a promo vid...
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

would it be bad form to include a screen grab from each vid, in the same way as the bootleg discog has?
it may be of interest to the wider sisters fan base who doesnt have access to the weeding section - especially the early vids that arent available on SHOT
for example on this page: http://www.sisters.co.za/wiki/index.php/Walk_Away_video

I'll add We Are The Same, Susanne. It would be nice to have a still frame of each music video. Anyone know where to find pictures from the music videos?
I found an alternative We Are The Same, Susanne video on the internet. If I can find it again, I'll give a link.

I found the video. I prefer it to the video they had on the official site.
I haven't seen that version before!

Just out of interest; who holds the copyright on interviews? The interviewer, the interviewee, or a combination of the two?
Cos if it's the interviewer certain people could "put their work in the public domain" by copying it across to the wiki

this "certain person" would rather the HL ones remain here
drives traffic through the forum and generates interest and hopefully new members

Right, folks. The wiki now has it's own domain name: www.sisterswiki.org
Please update all links and bookmarks. I have put a re-direct on the old page to send you on to the new one.
This has allowed me to give the site it's own FTP login and no longer ties it to my personal Sisters site. I'm gonna edit my posts refering to the old site so they point to the new, if possible please do the same.

Coolio. Fair enough. The Tony James, Gary Marx and Andreas Bruhn entries all now have links to their respective interviews on HL.Quiff Boy wrote:this "certain person" would rather the HL ones remain here

I've removed all the pages from the old wiki host now. Still working on the official unofficial Sisters wiki

My blushes!
Most of the framework is there now I think. A lot more detail could do with being put in.
More help would be appreciated people!

i'm at home today due to the most obnoxious migraine first thing this morning.
a couple of anadin super-bastard strength seems to have gotten rid of the bulk of the pain, but it appears to have left me with a rather strong case of the sniffles.
hey ho. twas ever thus.
thus i am currently pissing about ripping the best versions of the early sisters vids from a dvd that pib sent me recently, after which i shall endeavour to work out how to add an image or three to the wiki video pages.
i have to say that i've never seen a copy of body & soul that good before - every other one i've seen has been truly shocking quality. this version is just below average. 3rd gen vhs kinda thing. but as i say, best i've come across.... never realised von is playing a guitar in it before!

hmm. i have 7 screengrabs from body & soul, 9 from walk away, 9 from no time to cry and 7 from black planet.
all are 320x198
how the hell do i get them into the pages?
is there an "upload image" setting i'm missing? only i cant find the correct syntax to embed an image hosted elsewhere (on my server), but cant find how to upload on to the wiki server either.
anyone?

Ignore the part about OGG files. I'm not allowing any audio or video. The preferred formats are JPEG for photographic images, PNG for drawings and other iconic images, and OGG for sounds. Please name your files descriptively to avoid confusion. To include the image in a page, use a link in the form [[Image:file.jpg]] or [[Image:file.png|alt text]] or [[Media:file.ogg]] for sounds.
