I'm off to 'The Dam' on Tuesday with a first timer. I've been far too many times to mention but wanted him to see some cool places.
I have several fav coffeeshops (such as Greenhouse Centrum, Abraxas and Rokerji).
Do any of you have any favourites to recmmond and why?
(You have until 8 on Tuesday morning.)
And does anybody know of good modern art galleries?

as boudica says you can't go wrong for food.we ate phenomenally cheaply when we went (compared to the general cost of everything else).as we started to run out of money we did just about every museum /tourist thing going.the heineken museums fairly interesting.and if you're into art at all the van gogh museum's a must.Quiff Boy wrote:we're off to the dam for a few days after tilburg...Hom_Corleone wrote:I'm off to 'The Dam' on Tuesday with a first timer. I suggest you just wander around town... the best way of tourism! It's slow enough to see things you'd miss passing by in a bus/car/train/flying carpet/...
I like to walk around and find the 'hidden' spots, the 'little' places...
Oh, and check 'Het Vondelpark', especially during winters it can be very nice with all those crazy Dutch people ice-skating!
And the Hash-museum, off course

Although you can end up with sore feet and need to stop at a coffee-shop for some anaesthetic

Oh and if you get time for a day out, try taking a train out to Zandvoort for a lovely day by the seaside.
