Secret Sisters gig in leeds, this Tuesday

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

You can make that two people if I can twist my father's arm further ;)

Not that I bothered learning any of it past the intro :P

You can have it now:

Having been drinking since 2pm, by the time the band came on, we couldn't give a sh!t whether we could see or hear them anyway.
Haha great! Just steal/take a setlist then, ok? That's the only thing of importance, not your hazy memories from the bottom of your glass.

Quite. Must have been a different gig from what I remember.

Anyway, hope to see you all there - I'll be the Grant Mitchell lookalike hanging around with Lex.

Maybe even in a Leeds shirt, just for you FFS

RicheyJames and I got there at about 2pm in 1997 and it was empty but cannot remember much more than that although that did guarantee us tickets from a barman. Everyone else started turing up in numbers after 5pm and most still got in. Anyway I'll be there for early tomorrow.

Dad's seriously considering letting me go if I can work out how to get there and back. Any others taking the Transpennine Express tomorrow?

Looks like it's going to be a long day of train rides ;D

I'Il be on the Transpennine Express from York. Aiming to leave work at midday, stick a Sisters shirt on, and hopefully be in Leeds about an hour later.

Bugger, the dream has been smashed.

I conveniently neglected the fact that I have two parents and that my Mother is not so easygoing

Would you let your 16 year old travel 100 miles to see a gig from which would see him return to Liverpool some time in the early hours?

As disappointing as it is, I have to remember that they are taking me to Tilburg and there is something of a rationale behind the maternal objection.

Looks like my inner Paranoid beat up the inner Goth

If it's any consolation...

After discovering the Sisters aged 15 (in 1985) I then found out the bastards had effectively split up only months before. Then they kept me waiting until November 1990 - a full five years later - until they played at Wembley Arena where I first actually saw them.

And I had to sleep on Paddington Station overnight after the gig, fending off the unwanted attentions of a number of dirty old men. :urff:

I've yet to ask my parents.

Maybe I could catch a train up to Leeds, see the gig and comeback. If my parents ask me where I've been I can just say I was out getting the paper.

It worked before... kinda. :innocent:

Well if you do use it, make sure you don't come home drunk.

I could catch a train up there, but if I can't find a place to stay overnight my mum will defiantly say no.

Time off agreed by my boss. After much p!ss-taking.

I think I'll wear my PRWY T-shirt. Or maybe the 16-2-91 one.

I'll be the one in black (I can't believe no-one's done that yet)

Looking forward to meeting those of you I haven't already met. ;D
