Updates

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

The official site has had more updates in the last week or so than in several years, now including

The Sisters Of Mercy are Andrew Eldritch vocals
Doktor Avalanche drums etc
Nurse nurse to the Doktor
Chris Catalyst guitars, vocals
The Legendary Mister Whammy * guitars, vocals

* Yes. Adam Pearson is now playing guitar with the MC5.
But he's doing these Sisters dates anyway.

Chris Catalyst eats daleks. He lives in Leeds.

:notworthy:

I was only on that page yesterday, wondering about the lack of updates.

Sublime :D

Hope they'll be doing some more updating later today or during the next month :innocent:

You know, when you're used to getting nothing (band-wise, I mean) you're double as happy with a seven line update like this... Fans of most other bands wouldn't even notice

2002
Sister Chris Sheehan starts compiling some of the band's filmed concert footage for a future DVD release, and the Sisters headline summer festivals in Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. Another major European tour is to follow in the Spring.

2003
March/April: touring through some of the finest parts of northern Europe.

2004
Thinking. And not doing too much with that filmed footage, as it turns out. Adam is moving house. And then burning it down. Much smoke. No gigs.

2005
Chris Sheehan is still having a day at the beach, so the Sisters are joined by Leeds' own Chris Catalyst, who is known to some of you as Robochrist. Adam Pearson is playing guitar with the MC5, but he's doing current Sisters dates anyway, as the machine powers on.
at least he's honest about what he did/didnt do last year.

and does that mean chris is a full member now? i thought he was just a hired hand for the summer tour...?

It's been so long since I've been on the site that I don't know what's old and what's new. :urff:

Is this new?
Andrew would like to say that he didn't realise the band had been going two thousand years, but thanks for the party. The fifth album really will be out very soon. Please send the money to A Eldritch (Presidente), Carcassonne, South Kent, United States of Europe, Terra Prime.

I seem to be having a little trouble with my arithmetic, as I count only
three Sisters studio albums.
Unless Gift is now being counted - I suppose Colours was reworked and
Giving Ground is a live favourite, and Gift was written and produced by Eldritch and featured the Doktor and Patty.

...or is there a lost album?
Some how I very much doubt it!

Yes, I am that bored this evening.

Go Figure is really stretching it!
And two of those are compilations...

Nevertheless, it was an album, and one that was needed for Andrew's progression away from WEA.

And they were compilations, but still albums.
I'm more inclined to call Gift an EP, but it still counts in most eyes as an album.
