those kind of 'silvers' you can see the burned areas on, Andrew, maybe Dark means a factory written CD?

You can see the burned areas? Damn it.
What about those CD-Rs that are black on both sides (some that are designed to look like vinyls), or orange/red on both sides? Can you see the burned areas on them, or are they branded?

mr blast is correct.James Blast wrote:those kind of 'silvers' you can see the burned areas on, Andrew, maybe Dark means a factory written CD?
they are just plain unbranded cds - silver on both sides. which makes it very hard to tell which side is "up" on an unwritten one
however, you can get a spindle of 100 from dixons for about 20 quid or so.

Blah. Dude, some of us still have shedloads of vinyl, but not the time/inclination to copy it all onto digital media, nor the money/inclination to buy it all again on CD.bloodmoney wrote:Flexis?? dude, i mean, Sir dark, just make sure you only sell flexis bundled with free turntables...who's got a turntable nowadays anyway?

I am with you, it was difficult to part with my turntable, but a 2MBit connection and a couple of P2P clients helped me a lot in "transferring" my vinyl to mp3 . Of course its still cooler to have the actual vinyl boot (with the 'only 200 copies pressed with fresh blood' or whatever on it); they are just not very handy.... sorry, OT. so long.markfiend wrote:Blah. Indeed; a lot of my vinyl I have transferred via P2P; but there's still a lot of stuff I haven't
Not just Sisters stuff either. I've been buying records almost as long as I could walk...

Well I do and I love it! Convenient it ain't but with the right piece of vinyl, it reaches the parts that CD players just can't reach. And it wouldn't be seen dead playing a flexi...bloodmoney wrote:Flexis?? dude, i mean, Sir dark, just make sure you only sell flexis bundled with free turntables...who's got a turntable nowadays anyway?

i have a pair of cheapo 1210 copies that are just about fit for the scrap heap now.
got them about 10 years ago as "my first decks" with the intention of getting a pair of real 1210s. never got around to it
they've got nice "plus 8" slip mats though
they look something like this:

Well, when you ask who has a turntable nowadays, I advise caution. I have one upstairs in my bedroom so I can listen to Gift as I'm trying to get up, and one downstairs on my computer desk, so I can play them whilst shooting people on random FPSes.
Besides, the whole thing downstairs was a fiver from a car boot sale, what do I care if I play flexis on it? Long Train works fine.

Happy bidding Dark (funds permitting)

- this one is so perverse that I even wanted to get it but I'm afraid I'm not back from Berlin when the auction ends
Yes, it reminds me very very very weird vinyls I have seen in Soviet time - no Sisters one until now.

Andrew S, you are GOD.
Sadly, these each cost quite a bit when put together, but I will try to buy some.
And because I'm SUCH a nice guy, I've saved the pictures to Photobucket, and am writing them up in a new section on the Sisters Wiki, all for you all.

Well, I got one, but I'm not sure how to transfer money to pay for it. I can try and ask in German if I can pay via cheque or PayPal or just send Euros in an envelope, but still.
Can someone please tell me HOW exactly one would transfer money?

Did you use "ask seller a question" option?Dark wrote:Well, I got one, but I'm not sure how to transfer money to pay for it. I can try and ask in German if I can pay via cheque or PayPal or just send Euros in an envelope, but still.

And by the way - which ones did you get?

I did ask them a question. It was very difficult, as their English was only slightly better than my German (I had some help though, and I think I got it through well enough) and I sent them the Euros this afternoon.
I really DESPERATELY wanted When You Don't See Me and Amphetamine Logic (for its coverart) but I ended up getting that goth classic:
A Rock And A Hard Place.
