Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So is it safe to presume that most people will be staying at The Queens then? We are on the brink of booking a room!

Ta for all advice given so far :notworthy:

Well.. I wanna go on the Sunday. If it lasts till 11.. I guess I could get a train back to Lincoln. Dunno how much a taxi to Chez Dark would be, though probably not very much, since I only live a mile or two from the station, and still within city limits.

Yep, in all likelihood you'll have walked past The George on the way to Joseph's Well - it's bang opposite the main entrance of the LGI.

There'll probably be a couple of beds / sofas going at ours too, but that kinda assumes I'll be capable of making it home myself, and not face down in the gutter singing sea-shanties.

Or stuck in A&E.

I think it was a weird hybrid of Holby City/Airport/Emmerdale quasi-medical docu-drama. Thankfully it went the way of Eldorado  :D

Whether it does or not, I'll have to leave so I can get home by about 1-2am.

How long would it take to get from Lincoln to Leeds via train?

That all depends on what you were "taking"before the trip home!  .

Sadly, there's no train before about 5. I will not be on Planet Dave for 6 hours wandering around Leeds. :P

Me and Ms Delilah hung a left at the Thai restaurant on the corner and then round the south side of LGI and over the bridge to JW. Had we reached the George by then? Where is it in relation? :?:

Bummer!
just called that CityBreaks booking line again and a single room for those 3 nights at the Queens has jumped from £115 to £172!!!
I wasn't able to book it on Friday as the booking office was closed.

Less money for ale :(

Arse!

www.superbreak.com

Jurys Inn - £106.25
Novotel - £ 112.00

All within walking distance of The Queens. However ...

Keep checking though on a daily basis. The Queens is 200 rooms. It won't be full that weekend. All that's happened is that the ten rooms at the discounted rates have been snapped up. Once they've taken that on board they'll release another ten rooms. A travel agent would tell you it's called 'revenue inventory management'.

Well you could try Dark - but take it from me, it's an utter nightmare to go ANYWHERE from Lincoln, let alone get back

As I said last week, unfortunately, we'll be on the wrong side (or right side depending on your preferences) of the Pennines to offer a lift.

Try booking your room from the link to the Queens you put up James - I did that and me and Laz got a double room for £224 (£112 each), so I presume that a single would be about the same? :?

Sentiment is appreciated, Ness. However, it's looking less and less likely.
