Behind the Door

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

A big :notworthy: to vicus for the stirling work with poison-door.net, a mighty website. Only one quibble - will it ever have a comprehensive English version for us ignorant islanders who have yet to live up to the Paramount Leader's level?
Why don't we have a sprawling reference website like PD? Between Dominion and Heartland, we've got a fantastic conversation going, but no far-reaching, deep resource site...

What's the deal? :|

Something with personality and depth behind it, like PD. That's clearly a fanbuilt site, not some 'fill-in-the-blanks' reference service. I'm not demeaning wikipedia, I think it's brilliant, but all the work Dark (closest thing we have to an anorak, I guess) should be on an independant site. For example.

It is an independent site. www.sisterswiki.org

If you don't like something on there you can edit it yourself ;)

should we excuse young master sinister's ignorance with regard to our wiki as an acceptable aberration caused by his inccessant hounding at the hands of the heartland harridans.....or join in 'cause there's no excuse for moaning when you can do something about it? (the wiki, that is..i'm sure the hell-hags are impossible to shake off when they can smell flesh :innocent: )

I put a lot of work on there because I haven't the time or inclination to make a Sisters site.
It's the best thing we have for Sisters info, but at the moment it's being updated even less than The Fourth Floor, for instance. GET TYPING! ;D

Well, I've been re-educated. I asked a question, and got a reasonable answer. If the wikipedia site does the job, no complaints here.

whizzkid, that almost sounded like sympathy - cheers!

I'm sure I don't know what you mean... :innocent:

Now, quit whingeing, Timbo, you're displeasing me. :P

Oh and BY THE WAY, it's "Sterling work" not "Stirling", which as we all know, is an historic town situated roughly halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Gary, it was meant as a prod. Perhaps I was too subtle:

"Get yer arse in gear, and update it, cos I get all my information from the Wiki or your site." :P

oh - ahem - thank you!

an english version? well - when i started that website (1998 or 1999 i think) there was ian's site and several other great resources on the web, but i could not find anything in german. so i started that thing.
in those days i thought about setting up an english version of it - but my knowledge of english grammar and my limited vocabulary is well documented (especially in this forum, i'm afraid). so i gave up that idea.
most things you can find there are snippets of what i found here, at andrius' site or got via dominion. so there are still a lot of very good and more reliable sources in english on the web.

so: the answer has to be "no" ;-)

Whoops. What can I say? The passion of writing left me momentarily unable to construct coherent sentances!
