Secret Songs

I've found the two at the end of Nirvana albums (Nevermind & In Utero) plus Placebo (WYIN) and BP (Silent Alarm).

What else am I missing? Help me out guys.

Nick Cave have some too on Key of X: Music From And Inspired By The X-Files (1996)
and Depeche Mode have a song Junior Painkiller not listed on Ultra as well....
here you can find a lot of them..

There's one at the end of "Welcome To Earth" by Apoptygma Berzerk which sounds like the theme for a computer game.

Mind you, so does all the rest of their stuff!

You can SEE it's there, but it's not listed on the packaging.
If you were to have just picked it up in a shop when it was released, it'd say "Kiss, Lights, Valentine, Fix, Burn" with no mention of the drumbeat at the end, added as an extra track.
And it is possible to have hidden tracks on vinyl, I'm not too sure about the method when pressing, but it's possible to have two songs starting from one line, and it's just chance which one you get.
Also you can get vinyl that has a bonus track that's found by putting the needle on the run out groove, and it'll move onto another track, going backwards through the vinyl (ie, from the centre out). I think the track has to be the same length as the last song on that side.
I'm not 100% sure, but long posting short, it IS possible to have bonus tracks on vinyl this way. I'm sure someone can help and add to that.

There are two hidden songs at the end of NIN's 'Broken' CD - 'Suck' and 'You're So Physical' (Adam & The Ants cover).

I don't know if it's the same thing that Dark is talking about, but you can get vinyl with more than one groove per side. They used to sell things like horse-racing games, which had six grooves; which horse wins depends on exactly where you put the needle down.

@Ruffers: You definitely can. An independant record mastering company called Aardvark Record Mastering has this to say:

Inside out cuts: Record starts at the middle, plays to the edge, and falls off.

Double Grooves: Two distinct tracks recorded interlaced. Times have to be equal for each groove, and each selection must be half the length of a loud cut.

I read it somewhere else (I can't remember where) too, but that's the first place that springs to mind.

i've got a monty python album ("Matching Tie and Handkerchief") with two different audio tracks on one of the sides...

The Python's next album was 1973's innovative The Monty Python Matching Tie and Handkerchief. The album is mainly new material, with a few sketches from the third series of Flying Circus thrown in. More importantly, it was the world's first 'three-sided' LP - the second side had two grooves cut into it, the material that played depending on which groove the needle fell into. To further confuse matters, both sides were labelled 'side two'.

The design of record sleeve was also noteworthy, consisting of a hole in the cover through which the Terry Gilliam-designed inner sleeve can be seen. This shows a man on a gallows wearing the tie and handkerchief of the title. It also states that the record is being given away as a free gift with the tie and handkerchief set. Sadly, later releases of the record did away with both the design and the second groove.

Tool's 'Undertow' has a hidden track. Track 69, with spoken word from Henry Rollins.

And the 'Endless, Nameless' track from Nirvana's Nevermind CD is absolutely great!

Avatar's 'Memoriam Draconis' also has a hidden track, and so does the For Greater Good demo CD 'Lethargy'.

They actually play it live on the 'Live Tonight! Sold Out!' vid where Kris alternately introduces it as 'the secret song' and 'the halloween song' as they're playing a home coming gig in Seattle. Umm ...on Halloween.

Cue ten minutes of discordant nonsense 'womaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn ...' and much trashing of instruments and equipement. And lots of feedback.

It was only until I bought the 'come as you are' cd single that I knew the name of the song. It's the second song on the single.
