how could I forget Train In Vain from London Calling by The Mighty Clash. The album covers were printed before they decided to include it, so it only gets a mention in the runout groove.

My friend had a 4 12" release of somethingorother where you could only play the whole song if you played all 4 simultaniously. Bit of a problem at the time, but kinda easy to do if you record each one into the PC.
@Boudicca - indeed, most APB cds have an extra 'collage' hidden away - though frankly the effort put into them is somewhat less than the Roses managed to muster.
There's one at the end of The Beatles' Seargant(sp?) Pepper... well, not a track as such, but a very high-pitched tone, that can't be picked up by the human ear, but which John Lennon wanted put on to annoy people's dogs.
As if the crescendo at the end of "A Day In The Life" wouldn't send wildlife scurrying for miles around! The first time I heard that I ran to the other ride of the room because I thought the record player was about to explode...

at the end of a Loop record (I think it was Arc Light 12" - not sure - it was something I owned about 15 years ago so...) the normal spiral went into a locked groove and so kept repeating a riff until you got up and physically took the stylus off the record, which was rather good and very Loop-like.

As does the 12" of Spitting Image's The Chicken Song. Their idea of an extended version was just to repeat the entire song over again and then have the intro looped at the end. Suitably annoying

I remember at the time when this Aphex Twin CD came out I was following an audio recording course.
I told my 'teacher' about the image in the music and he laughed at me.
He said: 'that would be stupid to do, it would result in a lot of random audio gibberish, and no-one 'd like THAT in his own album!'
Then I let him listen to Aphex Twin afterwards. Should've taken a picture of his face
