Oh yeah, those were the days for good electronix! I remember Aphex Twin DJ-ing in The Fuse club in 94! Wicked Wild...
& I saw Autechre a few times, very dark (as in no lights... at all !) and very good.
Meat Beat manifesto in 94 or so were fab too (bass!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Oh dear...that doesn't sound good....this was before Cowboy died and before Flash went off and did his thing, leaving Melle Mel and the rest to do theirs, and we had two supergroups.....now where have I heard of a similar story

Nope, sadly I didn't... IIRC I was out of money one of the first times they came over to Belgium, and another time I didn't have the time, and more recently I've lost track of them a bit

To be honst with you. I don't like their CD's at all. I don't even own a CD by them.

They are to be seen live, and only live.

Heard 10 or 15 songs from their CD's, but they sound nothing like that live.

Think British sea power on speed, then you get Kaizers live.

I quite liked both of the cds I have by them (Evig Pint and Ompa Til Du Dør)... Had a lot of fun once driving by the seaside in a car with all the windows open and Kaizers on real loud, chav-like, but with hoompa-music in an incomprehensible language...
You do get some odd looks doing that though

EDIT: Seems I'll be missing their next Belgian gigs too, as they'll be next week... When I'm on holiday

One I forgot!!

Took my sister to see Depeche Mode at Whitley Bay Ice Rink in 1985/6 when they had gone BLACK.
She didn't like it much, but I was impressed.
Best Bit: The support band [can't remember name] appeared with a topless female singer. Cue- loads of mams and dads leading their young teens rapidly away from the stage!!

Definitely Hard Corps and they supported DM and the Cure. Lead singer had a propensity for getting her "tits oot fer the lads" without being asked first.

Repressed childhood I expect. Not enough love or attention from parents, especially daddy, is the usual reason for this sort of lewd behaviour.

One of the greatest gigs I've been to has also been the first proper gig I've attended - The Damned, obviously lost in the East Yorkshire murk, played Hull University (yes, we have one) and blew us away. Highlights included:

Forty men over fifty turned into one giant man having a fight with himself at the front.
Sensible coming for drinks with us because we were with The Nurses.
The Nurses rushing the stage a la Whitby and spanking Vanian and Sensible with riding crops.
Sensible abandoning the stage, in a lovely pink dress, and playing the guitar from the middle of the audience. Whilst being spanked.

My favourite, obviously, is NME at Joseph's Well...

Blaggers ITA at Leeds Duchess January 1993.
Quite simply the best punk band of the last 15 years.
The support band played a great cover of Tasmin Archers sleeping sattelite...honestly.

Faith No More - Leeds Uni Feb 1988.
Their first UK tour back in the days when Chuck was still the vocalist. I also saw them a few times with Mike in 89/90, & they always delivered the goods live.

The Godfathers - Leeds Uni/Poly 87-88
Top cockney gangsters were always a good live turn, and regulars in Leeds throughout 87-88.
I want Everything & 'Cos I said so, were great live songs.

The week that their 1st single was released, the baggy survivers played the hottest gig that I have ever attended. That said, the hooded top underneath a sweatshirt combo that I was wearing probably didn't help!
I actually saw them 4 times at different Leeds venues in 1990.

Manchester Apollo Wednesday 01st October 1980 my 16th birthday. I'm dressed in all my new birthday gear, new DM's, new White Fred Perry polo, Blue braces & Wrangler stretch jeans with my new number 1 skinhead hair cut, Long Shot Kicked the Bucket rings out, a couple of youths go for the stage, I think, I'm having some of this & I’m up there in seconds. Skinhead Moon Stomp & the stage is now full, Most of the Specials retreat backwards, me too, Too Much Too Young, the bouncers start attacking people & trying to get them off the stage, Terry Hall (the Bob Dylan of my generation) tells them to fack off & leave us alone. I'm in heaven. Best night of my life in terms of gig going.
