If he was laughing his head off I certainly take back everything I have ever said about him being a prima donnaBig Si wrote:That was the one! Friend of mine managed to push me and himself right through the throng of followers standing at the front and we had an excellent view (well, admittedly mostly dry ice - but what more could a goth wish for?).Next - Fields of the Nephilim @ Middlesbrough Town Hall, 2 days after my birthday July 1990
If you were close enough to see you were probably just in front of me (I just wasn't looking ).
Never found a boot either
I never talk during music, at least during good music. If one hears bad music, it is one's duty to drown it in conversation.
The Police, Oingo Boingo, and Madness 1983
Why don't you ask the kids at Tiananmen Square
Was fashion the reason why they were there?
They disguise it, hypnotize it
Television made you buy it

Oh Yes, Libby! I saw them on the 'Handle With Care' tour in Glasgow and have 'Radiation Sickness' (quality images, naff sounds, fantastic gig) and 'Handle With Care Live In Europe' (quality images, quality sounds, so-so gig) on VHSBrideoffrankenstein wrote:Nothing wrong with Nuclear Assault! I was at that gig.
Buster Bloodvessel is an excellent frontman and Bad Manners are still one of the UK’s finest purveyors of quality 2 tone ska if you ask me.
I'm just a-walking in the sunshine,
Leave your troubles all behind you,
I think I'll drink a little red wine,
I'll take you where they'll never find you

Therapy? at Camden Underworld in 2000 or 2001. They played their brilliant cover of Isolation. Great gig but I would have been 20 or 21 by this time, so a late starter and not much since.

The Stray Cats, Birmingham Odeon, 1981. I went with my sister and her hubby, I was the only 9 year old there with a quiff and brothel creepers.

My first gig ever was The Dubliners when I was 7 or so. Dragged there by my mother and her friends who've been all madly in love with Ronnie Drew.
Put their heads on f*cking pikes in front of the venue for all I care.

Roger Waters' The Wall In Berlin, 1990. Watched it from a friend's balcony, mind well and truly blown.

1st was a christian metal band called Stryper at Hammersmith Odeon in 87 (I think)
2nd was Slayer at the same venue, so in my head they cancel each other out

Saw a load of bands in 88/89 at Banbury United Football club, including:
Acid Reign
Lawnmower deth
Under Neath What.
Still love Under Neath What to this day, my first major gig was The Cult, Ceremonial Stomp at the NEC 1990, I was 15 at the time.
The Sisters at the same venue the year after if I recall correctly, did Von do his a cappella Stop dragging my heart around then? or was that the year after?
Oh, missed one, saw some awful band at the Town and Country Club on a school outing organised by a girl I loved (I was 14 years old!) called Fat and Frantic.

Mine was Motörhead (supported by Girlschool). Guess I was destined to become a Sisters fan!
