what was your first "proper" gig

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Oh Yes, Libby! I saw them on the 'Handle With Care' tour in Glasgow and have 'Radiation Sickness' (quality images, naff sounds, fantastic gig) and 'Handle With Care Live In Europe' (quality images, quality sounds, so-so gig) on VHS :D

Therapy? at Camden Underworld in 2000 or 2001. They played their brilliant cover of Isolation. Great gig but I would have been 20 or 21 by this time, so a late starter and not much since. :oops:

Belle Stars supported IIRC

Went with a couple of friends from school who's dad kindly took us :)

2nd was Slayer at the same venue, so in my head they cancel each other out ;D

Saw a load of bands in 88/89 at Banbury United Football club, including:

Acid Reign

Lawnmower deth

Under Neath What.

Still love Under Neath What to this day, my first major gig was The Cult, Ceremonial Stomp at the NEC 1990, I was 15 at the time.

The Sisters at the same venue the year after if I recall correctly, did Von do his a cappella Stop dragging my heart around then? or was that the year after?

Oh, missed one, saw some awful band at the Town and Country Club on a school outing organised by a girl I loved (I was 14 years old!) called Fat and Frantic.
