Caught about 10 minutes of a C4 documentary last night about the Mini Pops (A programme where kids dressed up and sang pop tunes of the time - quite disturbing). Anyway, the director of this "show" was a Mike Mansfield. Yep, I checked my Wake video for the the credits - he's the producer for that as well

I would think they got Mike Mansfield thanks to his work on Supersonic rather than any other interests he may have had...

Maybe, but did you see Whatever Happened To The Mini Pops? I can't remember the program at all, but the performances looked ominous and just a little bit creepy.allfear wrote:Mike Mansfield was ITVs no I Pop TV director and in many ways he was quite innovatave, I mean supersonic was far better telly thatn Top of th ePops was at the time.

If it was a fight Minipops would win, because they're bigger than Andrew.

If he was the one responsible for all the silly filmic effects on Wake, I'm with Blast.James Blast wrote:Mike Mansfield was an arse!

had to turn it off as it was just too awful
the "gender benders" one the night before about new romantics and the blitz club was great though, even if steve strange and marylin were completely screwed! a proper case of my drug hell

I thought it was hilarious and disturbing. The best bit being the end, when everyone involved was shown some of the more incriminating footage. Those who'd insisted it had all just been clean innocent fun looked on in disbelief at the sight of a 7-year-old in makeup and scanty nightie performing '9 to 5'. That shut them up.Quiff Boy wrote:saw the first half hour of that minipops documentary last night
