ok, thanks for the link
As the guys have said, the only way to get official Sisters merchandise (and let's face it, it's only tees) nowadays is at the gigs. When they tour.
I was very fortunate that the very wonderful Ms Canon Docre and the very wonderful Ms Eva were prepared to shell out shed loads of ca$h for me (on trust) at the M'era Luna gig and send me a bunch of tees which I then sold on at cost to those, who for whatever reason, couldn't make the Mainland gigs.
Other than networking between friends, if you can't attend the gigs there's no way to get official 'merchandise' (read tees).
Whoever did the 'sums' for the tour also got it hopelessly wrong in terms of demand as I believe the tees had run out by Lokeren? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Must have been the Tilburg vultures ...
Cue PRWY person in white van loaded with tees sprinting across Europe brandishing his UK passport at every border crossing screaming "sausage, egg and chips!".
Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the second batch of tees turned up until Tabor.
Though, my belated BD present of a Poison Door mug is rather natty.
@ QB - Two World Wars and a World Cup and those Germans are still putting you to shame.

so the Reptile House isn't an actual physical place, like a shop.

Now do you seriously think that would happen?

i seem to remember in the early 90s that there was a shop in leeds, in the university area, that was meant to be an 'official' reptile house stockist.
when we went to the 'off the streets' gig we made a half-arsed attempt to find it - but couldn't.
i cannot remember where i got this info from, but im sure i had a name & an address. i have half an idea it came from under the rock.
can anyone shed any light on this, or is my memory playing tricks on me?

Yea, I was about the only one to have a UBG-tee, most people planned to buy it in Lokeren, but they'd run out...Johnny M wrote:Whoever did the 'sums' for the tour also got it hopelessly wrong in terms of demand as I believe the tees had run out by Lokeren? There were still plenty of the tour-shirts left though
Heard that too, but obviously don't know for sure...Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the second batch of tees turned up until Tabor.
You're mind isn't playing tricks on you. It was behind Theo's kebabs/Mega City One hairdressers/Kashmirs on Woodhouse Lane opposite the Parkinson steps. I can't remember the name although it might have been The Shining. I got a grey Replicant t-shirt there in 1994 when I was a student in Leeds but I think it shut soon afterwards.jherek wrote:i seem to remember in the early 90s that there was a shop in leeds, in the university area, that was meant to be an 'official' reptile house stockist.
As for where the Reptile House is, the inner sleeve to the Reptile House EP lists 7 Village Place which is in a quiet part of Burley Park.

I think this is very kind....Johnny M wrote: I was very fortunate that the very wonderful Ms Canon Docre and the very wonderful Ms Eva were prepared to shell out shed loads of ca$h for me (on trust) at the M'era Luna gig and send me a bunch of tees which I then sold on at cost to those, who for whatever reason, couldn't make the Mainland gigs.
The Reptile House site still says that they are trading as usual....so that means not at all?

If I'm thinking of the same place, it was a comic shop for a while?lex3000 wrote:You're mind isn't playing tricks on you. AFAIK 7 Village Place is a landlord-owned "student rentals" type of house. So there's not actually a lot to seelex3000 wrote:As for where the Reptile House is, the inner sleeve to the Reptile House EP lists 7 Village Place which is in a quiet part of Burley Park.

Although there used to be a fair bit of Sisters-related graffiti in the surrounding streets (I seem to remember Rise and Reverberate on a wall somewhere.) Find it here if you really must

Any pics of that available?markfiend wrote:Although there used to be a fair bit of Sisters-related graffiti in the surrounding streets (I seem to remember Rise and Reverberate on a wall somewhere.) Find it here if you really must
Actually, why don't you guys from Leeds make some sort of Sisters-tourist guide (a list of spots or something), so we can see important places in the history of our favourite band (picture guide would be cool too though )

i remember the "shop " being where stated , a long time ago though.wonder if utr mentions it at all, i shall have a look tonight when i go home(if i remember)
i am more likely to release an album before the sisters
Well, yes, but the mainlanders' part in the plan is merely to turn up there - it'll be up to the Leeds residentials to compile a proper tour for us *hint* (is anybody out there listening?)...
You can't fix stupid.
