Another spot: St George's Field behind the Henry Price building: I'm sure that's where a lot of the early 80's "graveyard" photos were taken. (such as the one on the Floorshow EP)

As I recall though, it was Indrek not Francis who eventually took the photo, and I made him delete it because it was raining and rain is not conducive to Good Hair.

We passed the Rising Sun pub on the way to Kirkstall Abbey. Claire and Indrek were too busy looking at his photos of London to listen to my commentary though. I think they'd got a bit fed up with my "I used to live there ... and there ... and there ..." by then.Johnny M wrote:Oh Francis, please tell me you took them down to 7 Village Place and went to the end of the road. Pointed out the Leeds borough boundaries and 'The Sun' pub across the green so we can all understand the lyric from "War On Drugs."

Roughly meaning, I'm going back to the pub.
Top photos Indrek.
Bonus points to anyone who can locate the green room.
@AndrewS: Custard or Jam?
@Markfiend: As I understand it the F Club moved around a bit. A friend of mine who I've lost touch with used to go when it was in Brannigans, but I'm not sure where that was. I think we've had this discussion before haven't we?

I remember The Warehouse as a bigger place , mind, it was 15 years since I was there last

The Warehouse has had some serious renovations take place since I used to frequent it. The location of several key features (bar, DJ booth etc) all seems to have moved around. The stage and dance floor are the same, as are the raised platforms and seating areas, but the "chill" out lounge is a new thing.

I only really took them there to check out the car park over the road. You must have seen a few green rooms in your time, Chairman.Chairman Bux wrote:Kirkstall Abbey is a beautiful place. Sorry if you felt so.
And I rememeber it was me who noticed that pub and said something about A House Of The Rising Sun (and New Orleans and A House Of The Rising Water).
Actually I wanted to ask this question - I have forgotten the name of the placeFrancis wrote:

Ah... now thanks to the wonders of cut and paste, I can see a skinny black-clad Not-Goth fella with shades...
(BTW - the photos... I couldn't see them at first, but when I copied and pasted the first two I could see them when I looked again at this thread... bloody technology - go figure .)

Beautiful - yes. Unsullied by the march of time - not when I saw it in February. I had trouble getting photos that didn't show the somewhat extensive scaffolding. It was very nice scaffolding mind you, and there was enough of the ruins untouched to show off the beauty of the place.Chairman Bux wrote:Kirkstall Abbey is a beautiful place. Thanks! I couldn't see the photo's either. That was pretty annoying. Now I can see them and I like what I see. Nicely taken!boudicca wrote:Ah... now thanks to the wonders of cut and paste, I can see a skinny black-clad Not-Goth fella with shades... :von: :innocent: :kiss:
