CD-RW

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Can't give you any price guides, but look for something around the 48 speed mark. Make sure you PC has enough horse power too.

From what I gather brands don't matter as much as they used to. CD Writing isn't cutting edge technology any more and the chances of creating coasters instead of lovely CDs has decreased a whole lot.

You should get basic software with the drive, try get Nero Burning ROM.

I use a rather old HP 9110i, but as far as I remember HP don't make CDRW drives anymore

Been very happy with it so far, and it's been over 2 years, it's definately the oldest piece of hardware on my main PC.

yeah, but dvd writers are getting pretty cheap around here at the moment, offering 4.7gb storage and perfect movie copies, no more of this 2/3 disk svcd, erm, not that i'd know of any such thing...

I use the musicmatch.com platinum service, 24 hour music, the songs I want, and other totally groovy features, all for only 8 euro dollars a month.
