Skin a PC to look like OSX

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So let's see.. use a capitali$t (though admittedly effective) OS, and then have it look like something even worse?

I'll pass, thanks.

Windows? Effective?

I think Windows is utter crap, but can't be bothered to do all the trouble in order to get Linux running (and explaining my parents how it works, as they use this very machine as well) and I once worked on a Mac (recently) and I just couldn't get it to do what I want, so that's nothing for me too... The only good thing that has to me is its looks  (but obviously mac addicts will think completely different about this  )
Styles are a lie.

If I had it my way, I'd have a mac with linux running on it, but the computer I use is a family computer so it would mean, like obviousman said, explaining how linux works to my parents who have only just gotten to grips with our PC which runs Windows.

OS X is the peak of UI gorgeousness, imho.

But you'll forgive me, right?

And it's running reasonably fast. For a 300mhz machine.

Which this 2Ghz machine isn't

Thus proving that even a Mac-theme isn't worth all the hassle: PRICELESS. ;D

BTW, Windows XP is as stable as Mac OS, you just have to get rid of all the annoying stuff like:

- nice graphics (it's an OS, not a picture book)
- three-quarters of the useless Windows junk like Messenger, Outlook, IExplorer and Firewall
- an actual connection to the Internet

And BTW, Linux sucks for audio. So not bothering to even look at the box.
