Well, at least twice I have given up seeing a fellow bidding before me. Once when Big Si was bidding for a James Ray CD (which he didn't get ) and the second time when ErcSweden got Some Girls cassette. Which I still wanted to get. It has a sentimental value for me. The one I had once was my first offical Sisters thing. And I exploited it every day maybe 2 yearshallucienate wrote:I predict a showdown the next time one shows up on Ebaypikkrong wrote:yes, vinyl - that's what I meant. got it only on CD.hallucienate wrote:I'm looking for that on vinyl. unfortunately most of my fave records are badly marked/scratched and the covers are worn...i put that down to being loved, played, old and partied...IMHO anyone who has a pristine original High Priest Of Love or Tattooed Beat Messiah didn't love those albums the way they were intended
as for TSOM vinyl...well i guess this is a Sisters forum so i should expect posts like pikkrongs to be here...respect my man...perfection in a cardboard sleeve

Hm.. I know Czechoslovakia has cheap-ish pressing plants.. when I find a song or two worthy of vinyl (and we'd be able to sell a thousand), perhaps a few hundred pounds would be winging its way there..

For some strange reason a lot of the covers of my Sisters vinyl have a peculiar white residue on them. Almost as if someone has spilt some white powdery substance on them and licked the last of it off. I can't imagine how that happened.

Mind, if I can do it in the toilets at the Phono, I can do it anywhere.

fair enough. It's probably a futile (and dangerous) pursuit to try to out-line each other anyway

God, if anything this thread has given me a serious craving for a new set of 1210s so I can get round to playing some of the 200+ fricking techno records I've somehow acquired..emilystrange wrote:you're just making me jealous and giving me cravings.

Overbombing and Some Girls vinyl seem somewhat desirable. I see an Overbombing cassette or two on eBay very often, but rarely a Some Girls one.
Personally, I'm looking out for any Palazzograssi releases.

IIRC the CD of "Some Girls" caused some problems for some people's CD players, because it was one of the first commercially available CDs to be longer than 74 minutes. These days the 80-minute standard seems to have supplanted 74-minute discs (with blanks at any rate) but all those years ago (well it is a long time in terms of technology) it was a bit of a rarity, and older (audio) CD players couldn't cope.

I have 'm both on vinyl , but especially for Overbombing I had to dig deep to find that one... (and it's probably my least played Sisters record)Dark wrote:Overbombing and Some Girls vinyl seem somewhat desirable.
I remember when the Some Girls vinyls hit the record shops some 13 years ago. You could just buy it in your local record shop (and you'd get a silly remark about the blackness of it all from the shopowner) Nowadays you don't even find it in record fairs

I picked up one on Ebay earlier this year, it didn't cost too much and still had all the merch sheets tooradiojamaica wrote:I remember when the Some Girls vinyls hit the record shops some 13 years ago. What is it with women and Ghost Dance records? Is it simply a pure jealousy thing due to Anne Marie's fantastic looks? My ex-bitch stole Stop The World off me when we split (or should I say when she fcuked off, lol). Some would say in the grand scheme of things she did me a favour (she did me a huge favour actually, since she's since married, and divorced....TWICE ).
