SSV (Front / Back)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Are there any large high resolution pics of the SSV cover?

make your own - it will be better than that one

the most tasteful thing ever to grace the front of an ssv boot was the original promo cassette cover:

given the right font and a wea logo i'm sure you could mock up a decent copy for a cd inlay in about 2 minutes

Does anybody know if the SSV-version with drums exists?
I thought East West remixed the album and forgot about the drums? Is this true? Has anybody heard other versions of the SSV songs?

nope. urban myth. pretty certain.

i know someone that von played the recordings to before sending them off to wea, and he says there never were drums on them.

oddly enough, from what i gather, the paris riots stuff sounded pretty much like ssv but with drums!! not the same material, but similar style. but they were only ever bedroom demos (read: self-indulgent noodlings) and never got any further than that.

J from the Happening told me a few years back that he created that cover for the promo cassette himself - presumably with a scanned negative copy of another tape-to-tape promo (to make in blacker and gothier, unlike the music!).

Wrong the cover on the link http://www.sisterswiki.org/index.php/SSV was the cover used on the original SSV website when it was hosted on the XOOM web address and there were also some CD covers which were blue!

I snagged the images from the old xoom site. I forwarded them to Mark to add to the Gallery. They are still there, currently on the 11th page of the Sisters Imagebank.

my copy has a really cheap nasty looking cover of von during blond hair era side on headshot and same era top half of body shot wearing blue jacket/ yellow shirt on the back. inside is a floodland era shot. von sat down shirt open hand behind head.
i quite like the album in a weird way.
