what rocked your world in 2002

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Turntable:

The Reptile House EP - Sisters :notworthy:
Floodland - Sisters :notworthy:
First & Last & Always - Sisters :notworthy:
Drainland - Swans
Dark side of the moon - Pink Floyd
If you want blood, you've got it - AC/DC (Bon Scott singing like a sheep, also my very first LP and it's still superb IMO), also very funny at 45 rpm!

CD player:

Several Sisters bootlegs
Motörhead
Faith no more
Alice in Chains
Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society
Queens of the Stone Age
Muse
After Forever
The Strokes - Is this it?

Don't think so, but these were the main ones.

Cheers, Otto.

all sorts of stuff "rocked my world" for short periods of time, but probably the only two bands that have most consistently rocked it this year have been the chameleons and the sisters.

ok, so neither of them are new, but the latest chams lp is a corker, and the sisters never fail to make me feel all lovely inside! :D :urff:

apart from that, i've only been intermittently impessed by stuff from the newer bands around. no lasting appeal i'm afraid :(

Ok, not all records, but here are my major 2002 "World Rockers"
In no particular order...
1)Whitehouse releasing the best single in years,
2)Digging out old Misfits albums,
3)Seeing Jello Biafra singing live with Pitchshifter,
4)Sisters en Suisse,
5)Roger Waters in St Petersburg,
6)Discovering the joys of sherry,
7)Watching goffs wading knee deep in mud at Mera Luna,
8)Being paraded around a small German town in a shopping trolley full of empty cans,
9)Rollins Band at Rock City,
10)Absinthe fuelled taxi ride in a f**ked Lada to a banging techno night in a disused Russian nuclear bunker, and watching dawn over the Neva on the way home.
11) Pistols in the summer, credibility free, but fun as feck,
12)And of course, the joy of Heartland :notworthy:

Bummers (also in random order)...
1) The magazine I was working for being taken over by tossers,
2) Being arrested by the Militzia  ,
3) 3 funerals, Nan and two mates,
4) Public enemy cancelling AGAIN
5) Failing to learn a language for another whole year,
6) All ladies running away after about a week :?

2003... :?: :?:
