Phantom lovers thread

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I think that's very brave of you Andrew to not only admit to owning it but that you actually listen to it. We are a broad church and you have our full support. :innocent:

Past tense Johnny! It was back in 1983 and the record actually belonged to a friend. In our then innocence, we got much amusement from mucking around with the record player. While doing so, we also discovered that when a Tracy Ullman single was played at 33rpm, she sounded like Paul McCartney. Sadly, we never thought to try playing it backwards as well.

I have a vague memory of a Radio 1 DJ (Steve Wright? DLT? I dunno) doing similar with Rick Astley and Kylie Minogue records. Kylie 33s played at 45 sounded like Astley, and his 45s played at 33 sounded like her.

I think it was intended to be some deep and meaningful point about Stock/Aitken/Waterman records.

One of them (not Waterman funnily enough) hit it on the head when asked why their studio was called the Hit Factory. He said that someone slammed the door and the S fell off.

I rather like Phantom. Can't recall hearing Morricone myself.
