Worst Sisters songs.

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Trying to be objective here...

The first single. Goes without saying.
Possession.
Torch. I've thought this was rubbish ever since 1987.
Anything that was released with Dominion, except Emma.
Doctor Jeep (although the lyrics are brilliant)
You Could Be The One (although the lyrics are hilarious)
Romeo Down.

Apart from that, it's all good.

I find it very hard to say Sisters songs are rubbish, but Torch is indeed utter crap, can't really think of any others I did not get to like over time. When you don't see me isn't too good of a song either, but in both cases I have heard many many songs worse by any other band.

As someone once stated on here: Any bad Sisters song is still better than a mediocre song by most other bands (or something very like that)
Styles are a lie.

BTW, Dominion is great (and Floodland is my favourite record, full stop). I was referring to the B-sides. And I like the short version of Dr Jeep on ASCOO, but the VT album version is quite tedious.

Bartoszek, I'm rather fond of Blood Money and Bury Me Deep. I agree with you about the studio version of On The Wire, though OTW / Teachers / OTW is storming live, and one of my favourites.

^^^That.

Body & Soul. Actually, most of the Hussey compositions are pretty weedy...

And I've gone right off Summer & Come Together since they first showed up. The rest of the newer stuff is pretty decent though.
Dr Jeep is a great song but the production is all kinds of wrong.

Worst song ever is 'Will I Dream'. Even Andy is totally uninspired when he wails the chorus live.

YCBTO - never liked it, it suits the style of the time, but not the quality.

Also 'Come Together' ain't one of their best.

All the rest aren't that bad. Never disliked 'Torch', btw. It is a simple, calm song without too much frills.

But I always had a 'grit the teeth'-feeling with the album version of On The Wire. The main melody really IS out of key! But very nice to hear a OTW/Teachers/OTW live :)

It's a nice idea executed in a horrendously lack lustre manner.
