convert dvd to divx(mpeg4).....

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

...when the nerds get in on Monday, if any of them are interested in
knowing what tools you can use to make mpeg4 video files which will
copy with itunes and play successfully on a 60gb ipod video,
I have discovered that you can use Nero recode 2 with the nero
digital plug in, to convert dvd video to mpeg4.
In the video settings, i used custom re-size to 320x240, since thats
the standard mentioned in the ipod manual on the apple website.
In the audio settings, use low complexity (LC) nero digital audio.

Bobs your uncle, you're watching films on your ipod.
