MR NYHC?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I was buying music at a friend and local music scene supporter's shop on Saturday when I saw a Most Precious Blood badge in the display cabinet. The logo looked kinda familiar:

I was told it was bought from the band's merch stall during their recent tour of SA.

Blatant theft or a new signing to MR? I'm going with the former.

s**t.

I just listened to "Shark Ethic" (the sample from their new album, titled "Merciless") and it samples "This Corrosion" :|

And they're on "Trustkill", not Merciful...

The plot thickens :von:

It turns out that The Sisters along with The Cure are influences, they like their dark depressing aesthetics.
:?
Standard sort of Hardcore with a Corrosion choral sample thrown in for good measure.

Interesting.

there's a fucking big difference between "being influenced by" and theft of what is undoubtedly a regiserted logo. (in fact i know it's copyright 'cause we used to make sisters badges when i worked at alchemy).

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

The only connection I can see is that their latest offering is called Merciless.
