When You dont See Me

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

to be fair it's probably even more suited to trading, where you will undoubtedly find more answers than you could wish you hadn't asked the questions to ( :? ) and /or wave a stick at while suffering from anoraknaphobia.
Well I was handsome and I was strong

"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Mainstream Orientated Rock or in other words: boring s**t that works mainly in the USA. Hence Mr. E's try to break into the US market by adaption. (I'm glad he didnt succeed because a TSOM record that would've sold well in the states would certainly not be a TSOM record I like to listen to.)

I always thought it meant Middle Of the Road, ie. neither one thing or the other?
I think AOR, Adult Oriented Rock would be a better term

That's what I alway thought those terms meant
Slightly off topic , what about R'n'B,I always thought that meant rhythm and blues but when I watch cd:uk it seems to have something to do with rappers and bottoms.

They're both different genres according to my ageing Guinness Book Of Hit Singles. I know that R'n'B has come to mean the kind of s**t that dominates today's charts but I never did work out exactly what rhythm and blues was.

This has long been a mystery to me. Rhythm and Blues is what Muddy Waters et al were doing in the late 50s. Oversimplifying, I would say that it sounds somewhere inbetween Blues (from which it evolved) and Rock & Roll.

I always assumed that R 'n' B was the same thing, although how, say, Mariah Carey could be so classified baffled me no end.

Even more baffling is the classification of Robbie Williams and Britney Speers as Rock & Roll.
