THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I think their own site is the last thing we ought to look at, remember this summer's gigs?
No.
Herbertstrasse, ah yes. "Just walk down the street, I'll meet you on the other side," said Heike. "Why?" said I. "Because they'll throw dirty water at me if I walk down there with you." Heike had a good gigle when I emeged on the other side.
Have any ladies here walked down Herbertstrasse? Can they verify the dirty water?
I had to walk through Herbertstr. when I was a child (5 years old) because my father and my uncle wanted to go through and had no idea, where they can "park" me in the meantime. All the girls have been very friendly towards me and cuddled and stroked me.
The Herbertstr. is forbidden for women because the prostitutes expose themselves rather naked in the window. (Think a shopping mall for sex )

The Sisters are still touring???
I don't understand why women aren't allowed--certain women, you know, like other women. Not to mention, if it's the nakedness that's the problem, well, aren't other women already familiar with their own junk already?
Perhaps it has something to do with the naked hairy guy who like sucking on stilletto heels while the wearer does her nails? It's he the women are being protected from.
They did six gigs this summer, as you can see in the 'Sisters August 2005 tour' forum No one knows when we'll see them again, I'm affraid
On the red light district thingy: Antwerp used to have quite one too (well, it has been slimmed down rather much over the last years) and my mother passed through it with my little cousin (who was about 8 at the time, I think)... The girl's comments were: Why do all those girls wear so little?

I predict that this gets thrown out of the Sisters chat in no time, but anyway: The whole Herbertstr. is about selling and buying. Customer meets vendor in disarming directness. Other women are not customers. The prostitutes feel (understandably) watched, observed, ridiculed by other women walking through.
And no, Bshowers, lesbians have usually other means of approaching than going through this sex-supermarket even if the pornos you watched said something different.

It's probably been there since the site started, with the release date being incremented year-by-year. Pay no attention to it.
...the company name hints already: "Slow Boat Records"
Slow Boat Records is a reputable record shop in Wellington, New Zealand, who kindly let me have the new Kate Bush album three days before release date (quote: "f**k the embargo!") Next time I'm in Wellington I may well ask them if they know anything about this.
Since Slow Boat got their data from Pause & Play, I emailed the owner of the Pause & Play site to ask him about it.
Apparently, he received the information a long time ago and cannot remember exactly when he got it or where he got it from--and because he's gotten no more news about The Sisters' supposed new album, he even removed it from the site. Perhaps my telling him that a new Sisters album was about as likely as that "Chinese Democracy" album ever seeing the light of day spurred him on.

chinese democracy?...now theres a blast from the past!!
shame really - I saw them at the Leeds festival a few years back and the new stuff sounded quite good, but the new band just wasnt quite the same somehow.

has that country ever had democrasy? before the reds it was the komintang 'republic', and before then it was the emperor... wasn't it? ...or is this alittle bit off topic!?
apart from axl's frankly irritating voice and the name, guns n roses are velvet revolver, surely? (all the talent anyway) -and they lost the plot after the first album and tour.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
I only made the comparison because the two albums were both on the "upcoming" list, they both seem to have similar circumstances surrounding them, and they both seem more like a myth than anything else.
Just curious, though; what makes a new Sisters album more likely than a new GnR (or GnA--whatever you want to call it) album? Granted, I don't know much about the latter, but from what I have heard, they seem pretty much the same.

IMO, the difference is, the Sisters still exist (sometimes) whereas GnR don't.
Although like emwk says, Velvet Revolver were GnR in all but name.
