Sisters Uk Shows 18-19th 20th 22nd 23nd 24th 26-27th April

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Apart from Mr. Gunn - who else (apart from me) is considering going to the Bristol gig - assuming of course that Mr. Gun is going to the Bristol gig?

Is the Bristol venue any good - and are there any decent pubs/hotels very near by?

Any infor would be great! Apart from Mr. Gunn - who else (apart from me) is considering going to the Bristol gig - assuming of course that Mr. Gun is going to the Bristol gig?

The Bristol Academy is a new venue, converted from a cinema. Incidentally bellow where the Studio was, the venue the Sisters last played in Bristol in 85.

It is across the road from The Hatchet, which is Bristol’s main Goth/punk/weirdo pub. Bit of luck that.

Yeah I’m going and should have a mob with me, if you’re stuck for accommodation, mail me and I look out a few Hotels and B&B’s for you.

Leeds has a decent 'alternative' club night on Saturdays at The Phono, but it can't hold many people (maybe 120 or so). So the chances of getting in after a gig are rather remote. When I went there after the last Sisters gig in Leeds I had to queue for over half an hour to get in... :|

Perhaps it is, but the last time I was in the cockpit (after Lorries gig) I ended up doing myself an injury after slipping on some beer that had been spilt ont' stairs. So take care people!

Hi Bodies electrici!!
How is the Forum in London (good acoustic?)? I'm undecided if to come to London and to see both concerts to the Forum or to go to the nearest Monaco.... 2 concerts are better than one..... :D :D

Does anyone know what The Sisters are doing on the 21st April 2003? Is a day off - or is there some sort of secret gig organised?
I was just wondering why no-one on this excellent forum had mentioned it before!

don't get too excited...! :P
If you look at the dates for the whole tour, a pattern emerges where the band will playing 3 consecutive dates followed by a day off and so on... The Von machine needs a rest now and then like the rest of us lesser mortals y'know... :von:

Blank Canvas=A really rarther large venue in Granery Warf!!! At the very back!!! Went looking the other day, although now a Leeds lass, I'd never heard of it. Didn't want it to be a pretty unfunny joke so I thought I'd be the famous 5 and go exploring.......Looks quite ace!!! Doing the sat gig as The Phono's 'goth' night is on a sun!! If you can abide the Manson wannabies, quite a nice ikkle spot.
Only a paand.
