CHEESE

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

If you look a bit further you can spot Horgh from Immortal who has been in many of the "hilarious" BM images posted up here before

So, this Black Metal thing. Is it supposed to be taken seriously?

Libby, you seemed like such a sensible lass.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

Yeah, some people do take it a bit too seriously though and end up in p*ss-taking threads like this one. Personally I take it reasonably seriously as it is my favourite genre of music and I think people should search out some of the bands as they really are worth listening to!

*sigh*

Did you have to take Bowie's outfits seriously in the Ziggy Stardust era? Alice Cooper beheading dolls on stage? All the BDSM goff acts on Wave Gothic Treffen?

Get real, this is all a show and entertainment. There are always a few who do not understand this and take it too serious, but they are a minority, and not only in the Black scene...

I always took the music seriously, but never indulged in the satanic stuff and the churchburning and the christian-bashing. I read a lot about it, that's true, but I would never burn a church down.

Churches don't hit back, grasshoppah ;D

I hear ya IZ, but there's an awful lot of impressionable young men (and to a lesser extent ladies) out there who go for the whole Church Burnin'/Goat Sodomisin'/Human Sacrifice schtick. We're not all level headed and well centred. Disenfranchised youth will always latch onto anything that sounds dangerous and alienating.

The music still sucks! ;D

Only if they were from New York.

Surely the worst Christmas song has to be Wings - Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time

Your very mentioning of that song has given me the urge to kill a small fluffy animal...
