Yes, it's a question - are Rob Halford and Tony Blair a couple? At least both of them will come (and perform, not sure, will they do it together) today in Tallinn.
I'll see. At least one of them. Guess which one.

At least after Tony falls out of political favour, Rob will still have a very successful business to fall back on.

So, this little theory of yours is gathering more steam I see...pikkrong wrote:Yes, it's a question - are Rob Halford and Tony Blair a couple? At least both of them will come (and perform, not sure, will they do it together) today in Tallinn.

"I'm your Turbo Loverrrrr!"... but a well-meaning Blair fails to get the "metal" hand-gesture right...
There's a man with a mullet going mad with a mallet in Millets
Now facing one another
The stand-off eats at time
Then all at once a silence falls
As the bell ceases its chime
Upon this sign the challengers
With shrieks and cries rush forth
The knives fly out like bullets
Upon their deadly course
Screams of pain and agony
Rent the silent air
Amidst the dying bodies
Blood runs everywhere
The figure stands expressionless
Impassive and alone
Unmoved by this victory
And the seeds of death he's sown
Sworn to avenge
Condemn to hell
Tempt not the blade
All fear the Sentinel
The stand-off eats at time
Then all at once a silence falls
As the bell ceases its chime
Upon this sign the challengers
With shrieks and cries rush forth
The knives fly out like bullets
Upon their deadly course
Screams of pain and agony

Hate to say it Indrek, but your poems have really gone downhill recently...pikkrong wrote:Now facing one another

Do you prefer my earlier period:
There I was completely wasting
Out of work and down
All inside it's so frustrating
As I drift from town to town
Feel as though nobody cares if I live or die
So I might as well begin
To put some action in my life
Breaking the law
Breaking the law
Breaking the law
Breaking the law
So much for the golden future
I can't even start
I've had every promise broken
There's anger in my heart
You don't know what it's like
You don't have a clue
If you did you'd find yourselves
Doing the same thing too
Breaking the law

You don't know what it's like

Well, I have to say I felt some kind of nostalgia when they (I mean - Judas Priest, not Tony&Rob) played their songs from 80s but I was quite bored by anything from 90s or later. I think those songs were not worse, Priest did them with the same passion and professionalism but I'm obvisuosly not able to get into any heavy metal tune which has no nostalgic value from my teenage years
I was waiting for Love Bites which they didn't do. So I left the gig disappointed.
But I have to say that Halford is a funy b*gger - he seems to take heavy metal as it's woth, not too seriously (but with professionalism)

When did RH come out? These days, if I see a picture of him from around the time I was a Metal fan I'm amazed that the coin never dropped. But then again, I was only about 12 or 13... I do remember though that there were rumours about it circa Turbo which, as a word, is apparently "code" for a certain sexual practice.
Well, Metallica's "...And Justice For All" was released in 1988, wasn't it? And since 1990s Die Krupps and Ministry has turned to metal - in a good way. And there's always MotörheadMr. Wah wrote:I have to agree. I heard about Halford's confessions about his sexuality quite recently - maybe 15 years after I had given up listening to Priest. Well, these days I don't give a s**t about someone else's sexuality but in my teenage years I wasn't so open and it could disturb me.Mr. Wah wrote: do remember though that there were rumours about it circa Turbo which, as a word, is apparently "code" for a certain sexual practice.

and I think Typ O Negative had something to say as well. so I meant that classical (old school) heavy metal which doesn't attract me anymore.pikkrong wrote:Well, Metallica's "...And Justice For All" was released in 1988, wasn't it? I must say, some of their lyrics are sheee-ite (so I suppose when they started singing clean vocals you could actually hear how bad the lyrics were), but apart from that, they do a fab Depeche Mode on steroids.
Haven't heard anything after "Host" tho'... maybe they've gone down the sh!tter since. But "One Second" is a brilliant album - somehow situated between metal and synthpop, really cleverly done . And Draconian Times is pretty effin' neat as well .

My fave would be "Icon" or "Shades of God" - not heard anything after "One Second" but I'll always have a soft spot for 'em (and Gregor when he had long hair )boudicca wrote:"One Second" is a brilliant album - somehow situated between metal and synthpop, really cleverly done .
